PREMIERE: Overkissed - All Natural [Mood of the Era]

A safe space awaits. A haven of progression. A sanctuary of self improvement. A utopian oasis deflecting any current of dystopian obtrusion. A marine highway where sub frequencies aren’t limited to sonar. An aquatic paradise affectionately referred to as ‘Coral Road’. A true reflection of life, navigation of this road is no mean feat. It possesses no regular undertow. It will lull you. Don’t fight it and you’ll experience sonics never before concocted.

A Loon is Still a Loon promises buttery, booming lows joined by grittily sparkling top-lines of filtered synths and crunchy percussion.

The highway’s namesake delivers a kick drum that knocks through the middle of wide, attacked chords like Moses through the Red Sea; Its rolling bassline charging ahead, with scattered vocals keeping you smiling while the central punches crack your sternum.

With mindful relaxation sure to be tested, Yollks provides an ear-pricking, toppy kick drum dressed by a sinister 303 hook. No breakdowns. No rest periods. Unrelenting brutality painted in watery waveforms.

Tranquil resilience is required. Vibe-carrying vocal samples sit atop tremolo-affected bongos and a subby 4/4 thud while a Neapolitan chord blend serves up three varieties: Reverb chocolate, delay vanilla and arpeggio strawberry. It’s cold outside but our underwater club is nice and warm. Winter stands no chance.

This V/A sums up everything we are about, featuring 27 tracks that span the electronic music spectrum from Downtempo, Ambient, Chug, House, Electronic, to Rave, acid and breaks. It features lots of local unsigned Leeds artists where we are based, upcoming and rising artists, International Talent and a few well-respected names who have played our party over the years. 
This V/A has been put together to showcase the next wave of artists, our local scene, the diverse sound of Limit and to raise money for charity. 
All proceeds will be donated 1/3 equally to Mind, Womens Aid & Trees for cities and we are aiming to raise a modest 3K for charity.
All tracks have been specially put together for this release and curated carefully over the past year since January 2020.

PREMIERE: Language of Movement - Binary Code [LIMIT]

Collective consciousness is the set of shared beliefs, ideas, and moral attitudes which operate as a unifying force within society. This seems like an almost perfect title for our debut release.

Our first release under Limit honours the last 6 years of work through our events while also nodding to the future and showcasing the Limit sound to the world 💿

Due to release on Monday 31st January, we have been putting together this complication since Jan 2021 in lockdown.

This 27 track various artists compilation features 100% Unreleased music from our friends and extended limit family; Featuring local, international, unsigned, upcoming and fully-fledged artists coming together to raise money for charity.

All profits made from this release are 100% going to charity aswell, split equally between MIND, Womans Aid & Trees for Cities. We are aiming to raise a modest £3K to give a grand to each respected charity, but the sky is the limit.

This V/A is meant to be more of a compilation compiled by us to showcase an ever-evolving sound, almost like a set, with some incredible new music. The V/A showcases a versatile range of electronic music and little pockets of everything we love. The music has been curated carefully and features club tracks and not club tracks to fully immerse the listener and expand the mind.

We tried to showcase a diverse mix of artists, friends and extended Limit family. A few names you will recognise, many others we feel could be the next ones on the brink of greatness.

Every track in this release has something special about it and we hope everyone else will enjoy the mix of club tracks and at home listening gems, touching on all corners of electronic music, from ambient all the way up to 150+ breaks, showcasing abit of everything we love from artists we love.

It will be priced at a very nice £15 for the full compilation or £1 per track, individually. Worth just buying the full release though.

We have been working on this release for over a year and we hope it really hits the right spots and we can raise alot of money for the charities involved. Thank you for listening and/or purchasing this release and support us. <3

Adam BFD first burst onto the scene with his colourful, emotive driven productions; making a name for himself as an artist bridging the gap between electro, breaks and house. Now based in Paris, his work continues to put a nostalgic and animated spin on his far-reaching influences, from London to Mexico City and beyond. In the time since Adam’s introduction a series of singles and a recent EP on Running Out of Steam has seen the musician further refine and develop his sonic palette and Embrace coming by way of Distant Horizons is no exception. The five track EP covers many life cycles and no matter how mature, Adam’s tracks never lose the ability to make people move.

Adam starts by embracing the unknown in Le Voyage with its frenetic breaks and glistening melodies opening up a pathway to the stars, before space opens and time resides in Flotus; a special heart-searching moment, balanced by springly, danceable grooves. I Mean It gently unravels with tangible percussion and daydreaming textures, vocal loops becoming increasingly hypnotic as time stands still.

It’s not just Adams pacing that’s impressive, but his ability to turn real world sounds into fully functional elements heard in title track Embrace. Water moves freely over tightly packed drums and arpeggiated synths; a piece of tranquility ready when needed. Which Gate follows with pensive field recordings and cloud-formations; jerking breaks leaping back and forth in another special EP from a producer just getting started.

Essex based house producer, skyed, is today announcing the release of his new single ‘Subtle Amen.’ The track is the continuation of the DJ’s series of recent releases, the last of which - ‘U Heard Me Wright’ - was premiered on Analogue Advisory in August.

Skyed, real name Ben Miles, finds a middle ground between elegance and eeriness on a track that is as forward thinking as it is nostalgic. Self produced by Miles, the Essex based producer blends an array of influences from Earth Trax and Laurence Guy, to Black Loops and Tokyo Prose. ‘Subtle Amen’ is yet another example of his keen musical knowledge and versatile production style, bringing together elements of float house, electronica and techno.

Speaking on the track itself, Miles says: “This track came to life when I heard ‘Subtle Body’ by Fila Brazillia on a random recommended playlist. I later saw a YouTube comment that described it as “the sound of walking around an empty city at 4am,” which I think hits the nail on the head. I wanted to use that ethereal quality but give it an unexpected drive, which is where the Amen Break drum loop and the Marvin Gaye sample came in. They take the track in a completely different direction which is everything I really want to do when I make music.”

Hailing from Essex, Miles has been making music in one capacity or another since he was 13. Originally a drummer, he spent his teenage years honing his creative craft playing in bands, but a three year hiatus while he studied at university in Nottingham caused him to put the breaks on his musical exploits. While a gap like this may have caused others to reconsider their future, Miles used the time off to absorb the music he was surrounded by. His time in Nottingham threw him head first into the city’s house and techno scene, in which he found a vehicle that could combine his natural rhythm and passion for old school records. 

The first skyed track, ‘Copa’, was a lo-fi house banger to it’s core, bringing together prominent electric pianos and a nostalgic slowthai sample. In the seven months since that release, Miles has focused his production approach while still creating a sound that is as diverse as his own musical upbringing. His last release, ‘U Heard Me Wright / In Moonlight,’ was all about the raw highs and lows driving his music. His new single continues this theme, showing what makes this exciting young producer so unique.
