His immense creative skill also transfers to his production, seeing him sell millions of records and working with the likes of Prince, Madonna, Michael Jackson, R. Kelly and Mary J. Blige.

Written and produced by Hurley, ‘Jack Your Body’ quickly earned the distinction of being the UK’s first house music chart topper and all through club exposure alone, paving the way for the acid house sound. It is a landmark track in the history of house.

Originally released on pioneering Chicago house label, S&S Records, Doorly brings ‘Jack Your Body’ bang up to date for release on powerhouse label, Toolroom Records. Maintaining the bassline and vocal sample, Doorly updates this mid ‘80s classic by taking it down a techier route and bumping up the bass, whilst maintaining crisp and clean production throughout.

An inspiration to his contemporaries and a generation of producers who follow, it is only fitting that Steve Silk Hurley’s seminal track, ‘Jack Your Body’, receive the remix treatment from our tip for the future of house music, Doorly.

On the back of ‘Draw the Line’, his acclaimed release on Hot Creations and a recent ‘Future Heroes’ segment on BBC Radio 1, DeMarzo delivers his first release on rising UK label Underground Audio with the mammoth ‘Crazy / Original Mixtape’. 

A highly touted artist born and bred in Leeds, UK, DeMarzo’s passion for music stretches back to a childhood punctuated by his father’s soul and Motown records leading him to study the keyboard at age 8. Throughout his childhood he spent time playing in bands, while honing his production skills with a music technology course at college, never deviating from his goal of devoting his life to music creation.

Production breakthroughs would occur with tracks and remixes released on the likes of Noir, 2DIY4, Warung Recordings, Acid Fruits and Digital Delight, among others. Of particular note were on-point remixes of Finnebassen’s ‘What You Do’ on NastyFunk and Walker & Royce’s ‘I Surrender’ on Glasgow Underground that piqued the ears of fans and critics alike, while his re-rub of Compuphonic & Kolombo’s ‘Sand Storm’, with its intricate rhythmic sequences proved DeMarzo’s skill as a music-maker was improving with every track. 

Ever the perfectionist, he still wasn’t satisfied and so came ‘Draw the Line’ on Hot Creations – an example of him literally drawing a line under all his previous work and pushing his productions to a new and more refined level. The track’s deep, groove-driven floor-moving vibes was an undoubted sonic bullseye as the cut peaked at no.3 in Beatport Deep House charts and no.20 overall.

DeMarzo’s latest creation ‘Crazy’ / ‘Original Mixtape’ continues his quest to take his production output to new levels. Already premiered on BBC Radio 1 during his Future Heroes segment, ‘Crazy’ is a heavy-hitting, multi-layered bullet injected with double-thick layers of techno percussion and the mother of all synth stabs that’s cherry ripe for decimating dancefloors. 

On the flip ‘Original Mixtape’ is the attitude-packed little brother and a swinging house cut with a sly acid undercurrent that makes the perfect funk-fuelled accompaniment to its more high octane accomplice.

Jamie Jones &amp; Lee Foss’ Hot Creations offshoot, Hot Waves, releases its third stupendous compilation this September. The 14-track compilation is released digitally on the 24th September. There’s a double-pack 12” featuring six killer tracks from the compilation released on the 10th September.

Set up as a platform for burgeoning producers the Hot Waves compilations have gone from strength to strength. Giving a voice to many new producers as well as stalwarts from the Hot Creations stable, this third Volume is probably the strongest yet.

This volume features previous artists from Hot Waves compilations such as Alexis Raphael with his call to arms: ‘Warhorn’, French producer Julien Sandre teams up with Italian Dast for the brilliant ‘Wanna Be’, another driving house monster perfect for Hot Waves! Wildkats, are back teaming up with TBoy to produce the acid monster ‘Denied’, also Dirty Channels make their second Hot Waves appearance with the excellent ‘So Special’.

Hot Creations artists Lee Foss, Miguel Campbell, Robert James, Richy Ahmed, Mark Jenkyns, Digitaria, Funky Fat and wAFF also make appearances alongside new artist’s such as Lee Webster’s hypnotic soul- infused slice of dirty house, ‘Spend All Her Money’, new Italian artist Bartolemeo delivers the psychedelic slow breaks of ‘Jean Is Not Death’. This is the follow up to "GMT+2" & "Midnight In Stambul EP", and what a fine EP it is.The 2 originals are deep tech-house grooves with highly infectious basslines and original feel to them, the lead track so much it has even sparked someone creating a very innovative mash-up video of it online that was promptly removed!!! 

Spanish Deep and Tech-housers Carlos Pulido & Lopezhouse are picking up the pace with this EP and with several new tracks being noticed by tastemakers worldwide. Their groovy spaced out sound is a mix of deep-house and tech-house, hard to really tell which any more, as these two newcomers are aiming to make tracks that will stand the test of time, with no style or genre-barriers holding them back. 

The Dead Rose Music Company adds a remix to the package that is nothing but blissed out deep house, with a heavenly piano hook that gives the track a whole new dimension, making it into a real sunset-groove, something very wonderful for those Sunday sessions. With an amazing array of followers on his social media accounts, and forthcoming Remixes for some of the scenes brightest stars, TDRMC is something of a future force to be reckoned with.

ten tracks from the likes of Classic’s No Dial Tone and Sam Russo as well as a host of new talent.
Set up to showcase upcoming talent, Left’d has steadily become, alongside Leftroom and Leftroom Ltd, a must check imprint. Musically, the imprint has explored many of the strands of modern house music while steadily building an impressive list of supporters.
‘Year End’ is the first of the new format of Left’d releases where the single format becomes an Extended Extended Player, making for a weighty, quarterly package of treats.
In ‘Year End’ there’s a wide range of house leanings, from smooth modern deep house from Jammhot! and Jaimer Vincentie to late night, tripped out affairs from Sam Russo & Tom Web and No Dial Tone. Peak time isn’t ignored either, with punchy tackle coming in from Pierre Codarin and Anthonio Del Prete & Alex Magno.
As Left’d exists as a proving ground for future Leftroom artists, it certainly looks like 2013 will bright for the London-based imprint.
