This tune was created for a diskmag on C64 which contains news and other scene related information. I wanted to make it futuristic/neuromancer kinda inspired. With a little ice-breaker in the middle. My goal was 10 mins tune without getting boring, but I ended up with 7 minutes, which I find rather okay too. 

It's part 1 of a bigger idea. I hope to compose the other parts... in the future. :-)

Scarzix & Ziphoid - Syntax Eruption

I made this tune because one of my greatest pal's were down and I wanted to cheer him up with a happy tune. It turned out so well, that I decided to use this as my entry for Datastorm 2014 music compo and I got a 2nd place for it.

The Greatest Pal (#2 in music compo, Datastorm 2014)

Golden Moments were written for a huge hires bitmap scroller in our winning demo called "We are all connected".

The part shows a lot of golden moments from previous Datastorm parties, so this tune was meant as a "lets bring back those memories together" - love, peace and harmony :-)

When the tune kicks in, there is a Golden Moment logo on the screen and then images from the parties starts. Before that, a huge logo saying DATASTORM is scrolling over the screen sideways.

Golden Moments

This tune was composed for our winner demo at Datastorm 2014. The tune was used for a huge sideways scrolling hires bitmap and the first thing to appear was a giagantic Fairlight logo (one of our three groups) and as they have their "theme" I decided that it would be pretty fun to have that theme sound first in the tune. Then I ended the theme by holding the last note and then making it fade into a THX kinda effect to let people know that they should expect entertainment now.

So when the music kicks in, our OFFENCE logo starts to flash... but check out the demo yourself, and you will see what I mean.

The name for the tune was easy, as the final screen of the scroller shows a text we meant very much: WE ARE ALL CONNECTED... as in, all C64 sceners/fans are connected.. we share this hobby and fun with this old piece of hardware. C64 forever! :-)

"Gravity Lens" was composed on a C64 with 8580 SID by dEViLOCk. The tune was made for a C64 crack intro by Total Chaos of Noice/F4CG.
It was directly recorded from a real C64 machine without post processing. No samples used, pure SID.

Gravity Lens

I thought the idea of the Gubdata oldskool party happening in Sweden was rather fun and wanted to participate with something as they allowed for remote entries in all compos. So I decided to make something oldskool to fit the vibes of it. As I am really from the time of oldskool tunes I wanted to give it a try and do one with the sounds I really enjoy myself. 

Hope you like it too. I have some parts of the solo/leads that I wish I had made differently, but hey - it was made in a short time, so I am still rather satisfied with the outcome based on the amount of time spend.

I am particularly happy about the bass myself.

Manifesto

This tune was created for a Commodore 64 diskmag called Vandalism News. It's very slow on purpose and quite repetitive too, but its supposed NOT to take focus from the diskmag itself as the reader has plenty of pages to go through without thinking too much about the tune.

Dunno if I succeeded this time, was a bit in a hurry with this one. I still hear parts I think I might have done different if more time, but hey - I managed to get it done before deadline. 

Note: there is a music player inside the diskmag where the reader can choose which tune to hear, so if they get tired of one tune, they can just pick another one - IF all the composers delivers their tunes as promised. My focus this time was more on the intro tune with INXS cover, which you can find below here too.

"Wonderlight" is the soundtrack to our demo "Comaland" which won the C64 demo competition at X-2014. The tune is composed on and recorded from a real Commodore 64 with two 8580R5 SID chips. The Cover is a screenshot of the demo, logo pixeled by Yazoo/Oxyron.
