Gallery Of Echoes From Past

On several occasions, throughout various compositions of mine, I’ve emphasized how a melody or theme was based on something I wrote long ago, during my teenage years.
In this instance, the main theme is probably one of the very first things I ever composed—likely my first 'Eureka' moment, when I first gained some clarity about my musical gifts. Needless to say, this melody holds immense personal significance.
After all this time, I’ve finally decided to properly honor it by writing a set of variations.

Ode For Piano, A Minor, No. 2

A song that takes you down into the depths of your sadness and loneliness and gently embraces you in moments of helplessness. It captures the heaviness that life sometimes brings and reminds you that even in the darkest valley, a hand can be outstretched.

Helplessness like...
...When you want to scream but only silence comes out of you.
...When you need someone to listen and yet no one seems to be there.
...When you are looking for comfort but only find emptiness around you.

The song carries the message that you are not alone - even if it feels that way. It speaks of the possibility of taking an outstretched hand and that sometimes the first step out of the darkness is recognizing that there is someone who feels with you.
A musical promise that gives you hope and reminds you that it's okay to be weak - because strength also lies in sharing the burden.

"Lingering Light in Winter’s Embrace" is a chamber composition for eight instruments, deeply rooted in the expressive tradition of the Russian musical school, profoundly inspired by the legacies of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Georgy Sviridov. The piece seeks to capture the ephemeral beauty of memory, weaving an atmosphere of tender melancholy and quiet contemplation, as if illuminated by the delicate glow of a winter landscape.

At its heart lies the theme of nostalgia — a longing for moments lost, expressed through a lyrical dialogue between the strings (first and second violins, viola, cello, and double bass) and the poignant timbre of the winds (flute, oboe, and clarinet). The strings evoke heartfelt emotions, whispering tales of cherished recollections, while the winds add a breath of airy lightness and a subtle shimmer of hope. The double bass provides a resonant foundation, grounding the composition in the timeless embrace of the natural world.

This work transcends a specific narrative, instead inviting listeners on an emotional journey — a meditation on the fleeting nature of time, the enduring power of the human spirit, and the universal search for harmony. "Lingering Light in Winter’s Embrace" is a sonic painting, a tapestry of sound designed to stir the soul and awaken the imagination. It’s a testament to the beauty found within stillness, and a celebration of the delicate balance between joy and sorrow.

Cyrus the Great, the founder of the Persian Empire, is remembered not only as a mighty conqueror but as a just and visionary ruler. He united nations with wisdom and fairness, earning the title of "The Father of Human Rights."

His legacy lives on through the Cyrus Cylinder, an ancient inscription written in cuneiform, often regarded as the world’s first declaration of human rights. In it, Cyrus proclaimed freedom of religion, the right to return to one’s homeland, and respect for all cultures.

To this day, the spirit of Cyrus stands as a timeless symbol of justice, freedom, and eternal greatness.
