My second attempt at this project hahaha, which turned out much better and really fit more with the musical tradition of the franchise than my first try ;-P 

Funny story about this track is that I was really at a loss in the middle of writing it as far as where I wanted it to go in the chorus section. I had the synths going, had the drums going, but needed a horn or string melody to glue it all together. 

Well, I was tinkering around with a violin section track, and I finally came up with this cool sounding line, so I recorded it! So I listen to it a couple times and realize that it's actually pretty familiar.... and then it hits me. I have Zaid listen to it, as he was there helping with the track, and he confirms that yeah, it sounds really good, but it is kinda familiar. Well no shit, it's pretty much the same melody as Ryu's theme in the SF games hahaha! 

It sounded so good, though, and was so perfect for an anniversary album, that we decided to just embrace it and make the chorus an homage to that melody. It's a really good one, for sure, so I was cool with it =)

So, basically, I'm a big fan of Mobile Suit Gundam and its various incarnations. Besides the gripping stories and characters they usually portray, I have a huge appreciation for the quality of music in the different series. The different themes and scenarios just lend themselves to great songs and powerful orchestral pieces, so I decided that I'd try to write a piece with Gundam as the inspiration =) Hope you like it!

Hey there! My name is Christian Burke, and I am a composer. I am an American who currently lives in Japan, making a living as an English teacher. My big influences are JRPGs from the 16-bit and 32-bit eras, heavy metal, disco, funk, the Romantic Period, and Old Western soundtracks.

Currently, I create all my compositions using Reason 5, but I am looking to expand my collection of musical software and sound banks. If any of you out there have any good suggestions for what I should purchase next, please fling them my way!
