1) Misty Roads

These are three short movements for piano and percussion. The subject matter behind the piece is pollution in L.A. covering up the San Gabriel Mountains. In all 3 movements, the main theme/motive representing the mountains (a quote from a Debussy piano prelude also representing a mountain) gets increasingly OBSCURED until it is barely recognizable.

I was taking a drive on a particularly misty highway in Southern Oregon when I got inspired to write this piece.

Christian Dubeau (www.christiandubeau.com) is a composer of contemporary music and lives in Los Angeles, CA. He composed all the music that you hear on this website. His music has been played by members of the L.A. Percussion Quartet, the What's Next Ensemble, members of the L.A. Chamber Orchestra, and by several other gifted musicians and ensembles. Christian is also a trained classical pianist and enjoys performing his own works in public.

In addition to composing and performing music, Christian works as a piano, composition and theory teacher.
