The vinyl includes 3 original tracks characterized by raw techno sounds and solid atmospheres. On the A side ‘Sonic Mood’ produced alongside his friend Piegaja, is a massive peak time tune with an unexpected twist within the break to create a unique experience. The B-side opens with ‘Uncompromised’ that is another chunky, drum driven record. Laced with a cheeky melodic stab, the track is notoriously funky and will work well on the dance floor. The Ep closes with ‘Running Fast T oday’, once again a strong powerful record with dark atmospheric synths that create a uncompromising mood.

On September 2nd Techno mainstays Pig&Dan are set to release a special EP entitled ‘Modular Baptism (Remixes)’ via their own imprint, ELEVATE, which will soon celebrate its milestone 50th release.

This exclusive remix package features four stunning reworks of ‘Growler’ and ‘The Saint (Job San)’, the lead tracks taken from the duo’s acclaimed fourth album, ‘Modular Baptism’ which was released earlier this year. 

‘Modular Baptism’ was a record that further solidified Pig&Dan’s status as one of the most exciting Techno acts in the business, with the album claiming the #1 spot on Beatport and singles such as ‘Growler’ reaching the top spot in Beatport’s Techno chart and #2 overall.

Kicking off proceedings are two alluring reinterpretation of the duo’s aforementioned banger ‘Growler’. The first comes from Spanish DJ/producer Alberto Ruiz, who fuses the original’s deep resounding synth-riff with warped industrial sounding effects, and the second from rising London-based Brazilian-born talent Vinicius Honorio, who ventures down an even darker route with fierce distorted synths crashing against the more melodic moments of the track to great effect.

Following on are two excellent re-rubs of ‘The Saint (Job San)’. The first comes from revered NY based DJ/producer Boris, who turns the melodic masterpiece into a sharp, dark Techno roller featuring a relentless array of synth stabs. The second remix comes from French-born Geneva-based underground king Lee Van Dowski, who provides a euphoric sounding framework by bringing the original’s piano chords to the front of the mix and introducing squelching synths towards the end of the 8-minute number to further fuel the climatic finish.

‘Modular Baptism (Remixes)’ is available exclusively via Beatport on September 2nd and everywhere else two weeks later.

Trent Cantrelle is back for his third EP on Yoshitoshi, and he’s firing on all cylinders for this one. The three tracks that make up Transmit That Style are bold and hard-hitting, showcasing Trent’s proclivity for crazy sound design and highly layered arrangements.

The lead track, “Transmit That Style,” first made its appearance on our Yoshitoshi Ibiza compilation mixed by Sharam, as an album-only exclusive. Now it's finally available for single download, with a fresh mix and master.

“What I Need,” with its heavy, funky bass line and myriad sound effects and percussion, is classic Trent. It’s a track you would imagine being dropped on a classic Danny Tenagalia night, twisted at heart, with many elements of throwback deep house that ke ep it groovy and interesting. Meanwhile, “Your Body” is the EP’s tribute to techno with its driving groove, pummeling bass, and distinctly analog flare.

All in all, this is a deep and diverse EP from Trent and another happy addition from the LA-based producer to the Yoshitoshi catalogue. Enjoy!

Frenchman POPOF continues his decorated career with a debut release on Truesoul. 

POPOF is an artist whose career has been defined by twists and turns. From delicately beautiful minimal productions like ‘Serenity’ on his own Form Music imprint, to peak-time house cuts on Hot Creations and his remixes of The Chemical Brothers and Depeche Mode, his music is as unpredictable as it is impressive. 

Reinforcing the breadth of his output, he lands on Truesoul with a gritty three-track work, after impressing Adam Beyer with recent his ‘Confusion’ EP on MOOD Records, which featured on the Truesoul head’s celebrated Amnesia Terrace set at Cocoon Ibiza last year. ‘Vaporizer’ kicks off the EP in energetic fashion, driven by an electro-laced bassline that builds towards a thrilling crescendo. The title track ‘Enforced’ keeps up the intensity with a raw underbelly of menacing drums, acid and dizzying synth effects. ‘Placid Séquences’ sees techno, acid and electro fused together for maximum effect, rounding out the Frenchman’s high-octane contribution to the Truesoul catalogue.

Rising talent My Cat Snoop steps up for a quadruple dose of power on Truesoul.

The emerging artist from Brighton has dropped heat on labels including Hottrax, MOOD and Kerri Chandler’s Madtech. His maiden release for Truesoul offers a collection of groove-injected tech burners ripe for the summer season. 

The EP opens with ‘Dynamite’, as subterranean bass stabs rub shoulders with energetic percussion sure to delight an Ibiza terrace. ‘Don’t You Know’ takes a walk on the weirder side as trippy effects and a hazy vocal combine with plump tech grooves for a chunky atmosphere-building finish. ‘Can You Feel It’ brings the vocal to the fore, as distorted drums and dark basslines transition the vibe out of the sunshine and into the club. ‘Music Box’ rounds out the foursome, highlighted by an extended build-up and pulverising drop primed for peak-time moments.

UNCAGE label owner Marco Faraone is back on Rekids with three massive soulful cuts entitled ‘True Love EP’.

Hailing from Tuscany, Faraone has risen to become one of Italy’s leading house and techno artists over the last fifteen years. When not performing at the likes of Awakenings, Caprices, Tomorrowland and Kappa FuturFestival, the producer has released on leading labels like Ovum, Drumcode and Be As One. Since debuting on Rekids two years ago he’s become a notable fixture on the Berlin-based imprint, dropping numerous releases including his sophomore album, and he returns again now in fine form.

Opening the release in a big way, ‘True Love’ is built on galloping kicks, rattling shakers and a murky bass throb whilst a distorted vocal sings the track title. A cacophony of percussion then joins deep synths in ‘Want Me’ before introducing a powerful diva vox, leading into ‘Safari’ with its bubbling effects, piercing stabs and swinging hats.

Main premises for the 3rd chapter of Whack imprint ‘chronicles’ is about the assumption that the technologies and cultures of many ancient and more advanced civilizations were given to us –B.C.- by former astronauts or intelligent beings who were welcomed as gods.

Durtysoxxx’s music on “Space Gods” swells with mysterious vocals coated in layers of rich aural stabs and powerful techno-kicks. American producer - Funk'n Deep label owner, who also released on Phobiq or Noir- perfectly controls the euphoria and darkness of his energetic sound, not at all timorous for the dance floor. An original track designed for the most demanding clubbers all over the universe.

The release is completed by an extra-terrestrial rework by Whack’s head-honcho Aitor Ronda which dives into heavier yet smoother territory. The sonic environment of the track embodies this well, teetering on the edge of the laser sword that separates 90’s trance-induced groove and immortal dub-techno stabs delays and crispy hi-hats.

Christian Smith is one of the world’s leading exponents of techno, both as a DJ and producer he is always bold and innovative. With his output in recent years it is hard to imagine a list of prolific producers without his name towards the top. He has been at the top of his game for over two decades with his trademark groovy techno.

Although Swedish by birth, Christian spent most of his childhood years in Frankfurt, Germany which no doubt played an unexpected role in determining his musical tastes from a young age. After spending time in the US studying, Christian moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil playing the best clubs in the city and surrounding regions, where he still loves to play today and continues to have a very big following.

In 1995 he started his label Tronic, since then it has dominated the charts with releases from Christian himself and the likes of ANNA, Enrico Sangiuliano, Paco Osuna, Drunken Kong, Wehbba, Ramon Tapia, and more. The label has been the top selling techno label in the world according to Beatport, and is soon to celebrate its 500th release.
Tronic also has a weekly show which is now syndicated to over 100 stations worldwide, their 500th show was celebrated with special guest Carl Cox and now in 2022, they are already fast approaching the 600th episode.

Christian has dominated the charts and DJ’s playlists with a steady flow of releases on many high profile labels like Drumcode, Filth On Acid, Trick, Symbolism, Bedrock, and Tronic. His last EP on Tronic reached #1 spot on Beatport in both Techno and Electro in January of 2024. During the pandemic, Christian had a weekly Tronic Thursday stream which has reached over 10M people. On the remix front, Christian has recently reworked a track by UK hip hop superstar "Stormzy". His music is regularly featured on Spotify's biggest playlists and Christian is currently enjoying a big boost in his career.

Christian also ventured into his own branded night in Ibiza at mega club Eden. His first season on the Island in 2019 had 15 consecutive weeks of events and was a huge success. Christian was also invited to host Tronic events all over the world from Tokyo, Detroit, Los Angeles, and London amongst many others.
