As we come down from the clouds...

Label boss Boris delivers some serious groove-age in the &#8220;Warp&#8221; EP, which storms through the door, courtesy of the title track, and clearly sets the stomping tone. Besides the slamming rhythm section, an industrial vibe runs strong throughout the whole number and warped riffs in the background add to the hypnotic atmosphere. 
 Christian Smith&#8217;s interpretation funks things up with old-school hats and subtle, retro sensibilities. Electronic strings add to the epicness and lead directly to the apocalyptic breakdown, which also utilizes the characteristic bell stab of the original. 
 On &#8220;My Friend&#8221; we get a bit more mysterious with vocal snippets robotically chanting the title and the bass zipping away hypnotically. Alberto Ruiz picks things up with his more upbeat rendition, however, he shifts the focus on distressed effects and synthetic warfare, which blend effortlessly in to the sublime dubbiness.

The american producer has teamed up with another well known house legend coming also from the USA, Joeski. &#8220;Choose One&#8221; is a colourful track with a phat groove that reminds us to the old chicago house beats, while &#8220;When You Touch Me&#8221; is an old school cut directly linked to the acid movement. It&#8217;s great to have these two house legends together in Suara showing us how music was produced 20 years ago. If this is not enough, we have a techno legend as Christian Smith showing us how to reconvert an old-school track into a much more actual sounding cut. Harry Romero, Joeski and Christian Smith&#8230; Can we ask for more? No.

Jon Towell makes his Nightcolours debut with The Matrix EP, two chunky, percussive gems supported with remixes from Redspace and Nightcolours regulars Larrosa, Nico Sparvieri & SACK.

Resident of the esteemed Another Life parties, Jon’s productions have seen him release on high quality labels like Stripped, Crafted & Keep Thinking and his music has found it’s way into the sets of Anthony Pappa, John Digweed and many more.

The Matrix is a mean & moody percussive groover. Full of chunky perks and nagging synths lines this one is a going to get those heads nodding. Our main man from Florence, Leonardo Gonnelli, is back on Deeperfect for his second EP this year, and he is bringing us a super hot release for the summer! Leonardo is a regular on the imprint and he is renowned for delivering heavyweight music for us as well as labels like Get Physical, Play It Say It and Circus Recordings. For this EP he is joined by the amazingly talented vocalist, Forrest, who has seen his work released on such established labels as Moon Harbour, Crosstown Rebels and Visionquest to name but a few.
‘Back To You’ comes in hot with a heavy beat in Leonardo Gonnelli’s signature style. Tough drums and a pushing low end groove set the scene for a hedonistic club workout. Glitched vocal cuts appear and the tension builds until the sublime voice of Forrest finally takes center stage. The prolific vocalist delivers lush toplines with silky smooth melodies which perfectly contrast Gonnelli’s underground vibes. A true timeless piece of club music that stands head and shoulders above the crowd. Leonardo Gonnelli delivers a second original cut titled ‘Minimonster’. One this track he has delivered another expertly crafted club weapon which builds around fast past percussion and a deep pulsing sub bass line. Modulated synth swells twist and turn in the soundscape and a tense detuned bell riff grabs the spotlight. The melody runs throughout the track providing a memorable and mesmerizing hook to this floor smashing record.

Christian Smith is one of the world’s leading exponents of techno, both as a DJ and producer he is always bold and innovative. With his output in recent years it is hard to imagine a list of prolific producers without his name towards the top. He has been at the top of his game for over two decades with his trademark groovy techno.

Although Swedish by birth, Christian spent most of his childhood years in Frankfurt, Germany which no doubt played an unexpected role in determining his musical tastes from a young age. After spending time in the US studying, Christian moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil playing the best clubs in the city and surrounding regions, where he still loves to play today and continues to have a very big following.

In 1995 he started his label Tronic, since then it has dominated the charts with releases from Christian himself and the likes of ANNA, Enrico Sangiuliano, Paco Osuna, Drunken Kong, Wehbba, Ramon Tapia, and more. The label has been the top selling techno label in the world according to Beatport, and is soon to celebrate its 500th release.
Tronic also has a weekly show which is now syndicated to over 100 stations worldwide, their 500th show was celebrated with special guest Carl Cox and now in 2022, they are already fast approaching the 600th episode.

Christian has dominated the charts and DJ’s playlists with a steady flow of releases on many high profile labels like Drumcode, Filth On Acid, Trick, Symbolism, Bedrock, and Tronic. His last EP on Tronic reached #1 spot on Beatport in both Techno and Electro in January of 2024. During the pandemic, Christian had a weekly Tronic Thursday stream which has reached over 10M people. On the remix front, Christian has recently reworked a track by UK hip hop superstar "Stormzy". His music is regularly featured on Spotify's biggest playlists and Christian is currently enjoying a big boost in his career.

Christian also ventured into his own branded night in Ibiza at mega club Eden. His first season on the Island in 2019 had 15 consecutive weeks of events and was a huge success. Christian was also invited to host Tronic events all over the world from Tokyo, Detroit, Los Angeles, and London amongst many others.
