This week´s #AMFM is the third and last hour of my set at Guendalina Club in the south of Italy on July 29th 2017. For about 15 years now I have had the pleasure to play on a regular basis in Italy, but never played at that beautiful open air club before. For me this Saturday, July 29th, had 3 gigs planned. I started at the playdifferent stage at Tomorrowland and afterwards I flew directly to Stuttgart airport, where they sadly had some repairs on the runway, which caused some heavy delays, making me miss my gig at the WET Festival. Things like this can happen and are beyond anyone´s control, yet they are really frustrating, not only for me, also I believe for all of the people waiting at the event. Luckily my good friend Dubfire was willing to fill in and what I heard he smashed it. After all, the trip continued and I arrived a little late, but very psyched to play at Guendalina. And what a good time we had, what a beautiful place and what an amazing crowd. South of Italy never disappoints in the summer. I am so blessed and thankful for these moments. Grazie Mille once more. For those of you who glue the weekly AMFM hours together, I need to tell you that due to the fact that my set was just a little short of 3h, I needed to overlap the 2nd and the 3rd hour to make it fit for three shows. So if you really wanna fit it together, be aware that the first 15 min of the 3rd hour are the same as the last 15 min of the 2nd hour. Sorry for this inconvenience, but I couldn’t find any other way. Hope you will enjoy the set as much as I did playing it …

Tasillo - "We don’t always play all of those tracks in our live sets but we still love them. This 9 Essentials edition is quite dance floor orientated and starts with a vocal from one of the last Figure Records releases. We like Len Faki’s label Figure a lot and thought that this vocal is a great intro for the mix. The second track is a remix from Len Faki and we actually play it quite often as an intro track. It builds up a nice energy and brings people into the right mood for a Pan-Pot set :) Solaris Iterations from Kaspiann is an amazingly deep techno track. Great grooves with deep atmospheres. The following track is a remix from Kyle Geiger. Loving the (Italo) disco vibe in it. Next up is DEAS with his track Space race. The whole EP of Deas is a banger. Same as Rocko Garoni’s track “It’s All Yours“ feat Cook Strummer. Super dark and deep techno. Second State’s longterm member Michael Klein delivered a banger with Hoisin which follows Rocko’s track. The track “Reason“ from Proxima is a moody acid banger and always works brilliantly in clubs. Last but not least as an outro we chose a breakbeat remix from Delta Funktionen to roundup the whole mix. Drunken Kong - Studio Mix for Techno Tuesday Amsterdam

Christian Smith is one of the world’s leading exponents of techno, both as a DJ and producer he is always bold and innovative. With his output in recent years it is hard to imagine a list of prolific producers without his name towards the top. He has been at the top of his game for over two decades with his trademark groovy techno.

Although Swedish by birth, Christian spent most of his childhood years in Frankfurt, Germany which no doubt played an unexpected role in determining his musical tastes from a young age. After spending time in the US studying, Christian moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil playing the best clubs in the city and surrounding regions, where he still loves to play today and continues to have a very big following.

In 1995 he started his label Tronic, since then it has dominated the charts with releases from Christian himself and the likes of ANNA, Enrico Sangiuliano, Paco Osuna, Drunken Kong, Wehbba, Ramon Tapia, and more. The label has been the top selling techno label in the world according to Beatport, and is soon to celebrate its 500th release.
Tronic also has a weekly show which is now syndicated to over 100 stations worldwide, their 500th show was celebrated with special guest Carl Cox and now in 2022, they are already fast approaching the 600th episode.

Christian has dominated the charts and DJ’s playlists with a steady flow of releases on many high profile labels like Drumcode, Filth On Acid, Trick, Symbolism, Bedrock, and Tronic. His last EP on Tronic reached #1 spot on Beatport in both Techno and Electro in January of 2024. During the pandemic, Christian had a weekly Tronic Thursday stream which has reached over 10M people. On the remix front, Christian has recently reworked a track by UK hip hop superstar "Stormzy". His music is regularly featured on Spotify's biggest playlists and Christian is currently enjoying a big boost in his career.

Christian also ventured into his own branded night in Ibiza at mega club Eden. His first season on the Island in 2019 had 15 consecutive weeks of events and was a huge success. Christian was also invited to host Tronic events all over the world from Tokyo, Detroit, Los Angeles, and London amongst many others.
