Cloud refers to the technological process of storing data as Public Clouds, Private Clouds, Hybrid Clouds or Community Clouds. The origins of the sounds are the electromagnetic fields of digital transfer loci like server rooms, security systems, electrical power stations and other places of dense electrical activity in Europe, Canada, the United States and China. Electromagnetic waves that are normally imperceptible to us become audible. Cloud is a drone piece created from the material sounds of cloud computing.

Tistre is the first outcome of an experimentation with textile supports, made by Andrea Borghi in 2018, during a residency at Lottozero textile laboratories in Prato. Fabrics and yarns are the materials with which he creates discs the shape and size of a Lp. He plays them with a prepared turntable, in order to exploit the reliefs of the weft and the warp as a surface from which to produce the sound with the use of special self-built styli and electronic treatments.

Tistre follows the path taken by the artist with Discomateria, focused on experimentation with different materials such as glass, resin, metal or marble, which become the source for the production of sounds.

This year London has experienced several weekends of the hottest summer and that moved the Australian sound artist Kate Carr, whose practice is centred on articulating the relationship between people and place through sound, to point her microphone at the city. This volume is based on her recordings during a particularly hot long weekend in a corner of very busy intersection in London, where she resides now. In Heatwave, Carr is interested in both the serious and also the more prosaic aspects of soundscapes related to climate change. She investigated the throbbing summer music from her neighborhood, people’s efforts to keep cool, and the uneasiness which accompanies these everyday activities in this moment of environmental crisis. The way these pieces construct and compensate, with all the tangible sounds that fold into larger moods via multiple instruments, exemplifies her acumen in creating sonic stories that reflect our multi-layered experience of reality.

Co-founder of the Colorado-based Trust Collective label, Weippert's music vectors a collection of desolate murals often painted with industrial-grade fuel.
