An edit of a Classic piece of soul from the Studio One collection- featured on 7inch, and LP, Jennifer Lara has had her praises sung by many labels, and as a result has featured heavily in both re-releases and compilations. One of the best sounding female reggae singers out there in my opinion, she really does this tune justice in her cover, begging the question- is it better than the original? This edit is of course not, but makes it a little more playable for DJ's, and attempts to embellish some of the synth work...Enjoy! (Though thus far unmixed/unmastered)

One of the most mysterious and outsider 'Soca' 45s out there by H.M. 'These Eyes' Timothy. The A-side 'Let Me Love' sounds like doo wop recorded with Oluko Imo's gear. And the B-side 'Soca Hustle' sounds like the Residents jamming a Marvin Whoremonger song with Augustus Pablo. The original 45 is so obscure that even his siblings didn't know that he made music. And rumour has it that, frustrated by its lack of success, Michael threw most of the copies of the 45 in the valley beside his family's house in the hills just outside Port Of Spain.

Last month we took to the road as About To Blow set up shop with Secret FM to broadcast 24/7 live and direct from Secret Garden Party. As festival's go it has firmly established itself as one of the UK's best - a bastion for vibrant, carefree fun filled with floating stages, fireworks and a gigantic dance ring all set within the stunning Cambridgeshire woodland. Even with copious amounts of rainfall there was little to dampen the mood on what was a thoroughly enjoyable debut for ourselves and the Secret FM crew.

On the last night we decided to hit the studio with MeatTransmissions Fortune and Hutch alongside Shapes' James Rail for a finalè 3 Hour B2B2B marathon. Opting to spin through House, Techno, Bass and Disco classics old & new, the result is here for all to enjoy.
