06 La Juga Del Nazareno

Il y a un miracle Nilamayé. La proposition artistique de ce groupe de jeunes virtuoses de la percussion et de la voix est d’une force exceptionnelle. Cette force vient de l’invitation qui nous est faite de renouveler notre écoute, de débrider notre regard tout en restant vigilants. Car ces musiciens veillent. De deux manières : d’une part, ils opèrent une distinction fondamentale entre un respect pour la tradition et un respect de la tradition. En effet, le respect manifesté ici pour les formes traditionnelles des musiques de Colombie s’accompagne d’une remise en question de toute forme de dogmatisme qui risquerait d’engoncer ces pratiques dans des règles qui empêcheraient toute invention. D’autre part, ces musiciens opèrent un délicat travail en réflexivité. Car une appréciation inventive n’autorise pas tout. Et c’est toute la force des enregistrements qui nous sont aujourd’hui proposés: ces musiciens veillent à ce que le bruissement continu du monde ne vire pas à la cacophonie. Ils travaillent à une harmonie du monde, c’est-à-dire à l’inscription de leur geste artistique dans un processus continu d’invention qui ne s’éloigne pas des rives de la tradition, qui nous concerne tous, car c’est bien cela qui fait une tradition.

Here’s the third instalment of our EP serie. Again, a batch of exclusive tracks by Global Hybrid artists. With a taste for soulful, trance-inducing, evocative music, digging deep into musical inheritance from every corner of the world. Producer duet FANFARA ELECTRONICA explores the melancoly of bluegrass music from the north american steppes, an evocation of desertic landscapes. RAFAEL ARAGON takes us into the jungle, for a very special music ritual involving natural sounds and a blend of Hindi and Amazonian witchcraft, leading to a very trancy midtempo stomper. ALIZARINA goes back a century ago to the rich legacy of impressionist music, with his version of Erik Satie’s legendary «Gnossienne n°1«, that sends the french composer into the green lands of Balkan peninsula. A three-courses meal for the soul, full of inspired and inspiring slow-food, made by humans for humans.
