We as a society moved on way too fucking fast from this movie. I watched it recently and I felt just like Nimona about to get her heart torn on that statue when I saw that scene because I knew it all too well. This movie is a fucking masterpiece on how oppression affects people, how it’s taught, how suicide plays into it. It all made me bawl like a fucking baby man. As a queer person raised with different types of queerphobia, this hit so goddamn hard. Like it’s almost unfair. I mean it’s not, cause it was a beautiful piece. I’m bawling right now. I don’t even know how to talk properly, man. When Ballister stopped Nimona from offing herself and told her he’s sorry, he sees her and she’s not alone, I just fucking cried so hard. The way the movie builds up nimona’s perspective that many queer people take personally, it got to the point of near suicide, they get into that same mindset watching the movie, and then someone stops them.They’re stopped because someone wants them to still live.

I’ll still never forget this idc man I’m listening to this at 10pm on a Monday night I’ll never forget this shit as long as I live my long queer life.
