Four-on-the-floor Syncopation time: Music, art and spirituality formed the NY Sound where dance music, voguing and gay culture were the forces which carried 1982 those combinations to a new level of intensity where it may not have been the right time to radically change the complex musical arrangements, what the traditional New York sound was known for. Commands like “Jack your Body” didn’t fit into the feeling of grandeur and elegance.
People back then just knew “Dance”.

On the collaboration, Tiana notes: "As artists, we often have these transient lifestyles that can act like a poison and remedy for our own mental health and outlook on life. Travelling to avoid and escape the mundane home life or make and perform music that heals us and others... When I was writing ‘ON THE MOVE’, I reflected on how keeping busy, travelling and moving between cities has helped me break out of depressive cycles, and stagnant relationships."

Tiana continues: "Moving to Melbourne, touring and travelling overseas for music changed my life and continues to gift me with adventures and stories that become songs. As much as I feel like I miss out on precious moments back home or sometimes crave the stability of a more conventional life, I am so glad I took the risk. ‘ON THE MOVE’ captured that feeling for me, knowing that I didn't want to settle for a stagnant life, so I had to keep it moving and go on this new adventure, always internalising a sense of "home" wherever I go."

Stefano Noferini and Leonardo Gonnelli are two of the most influential artists in the current house and techno scene. Their many years of experience and contribution to the dance music industry has to be honoured and, therefore, we are very excited to announce their VIVA MUSiC debut with this expertly produced EP.


The Italian pair have both enjoyed illustrious careers, releasing numerous quality records subsequently winning a variety of awards. Noferini’s creation of Deeperfect Records has played a huge impact in both careers, as Gonnelli’s, ‘Whaa’ and ‘She Likes It’, have arguably been his best tracks. 

Many of the world’s best DJs have shown support to Noferini and Gonnelli, as a result of numerous successful releases on big-name labels. The latter has produced on Defected, Knee Deep In Sound, Get Physical and Material whereas Noferini has mostly released his best tracks on his own imprint, Deeperfect.

The quality in this three-track EP exemplifies the countless years of production that both these artists possess and there is no reason why the title track in Awake can’t reach Beatport’s top ten.
