With a heavy influence of progressive sounds the guys put their spin on a three hour mix of what they felt would fit the vibe of the event. The line up is now finalised for the 2023 edition, so we thought we would get our application online for all to hear.

This new year I had the absolute honour to play on Aum's incredible main stage, The White Stag. It's been a bit of a journey to get here, I was meant to play this stage last new year but because of covid and the restriction levels my set clashed with another festival I was booked for so it didn't happen. I was heartbroken at the time, so being able to step onto the stage this year was a very special moment for me. 

There's a few people I need to thank for making this happen. 

Firstly, Mr John Paul Moss. Mossy, your support goes way back, you gave me my first ever solo club set playing after Antix all those years ago, so playing this stage for you at the incredible set time you gave me means the absolute world. Thank you for your love, support and belief in me, and for the incredible women you booked to play alongside me that night. What you, Anna and Steve have created with Aum is completely unrivalled in New Zealand. It's magic beyond words. thank you all for all your mahi to ensure we all have the best new year every year, it doesn't go unnoticed.

Thank you to Lara, Bronte, Ainsley and Yuna for being my before and after support crew, you kept me calm beforehand (and I will freely admit I was nervous to play this one!) and the love you showed me when I finished brought me to tears.

To my darlings Cyril Orson and Cooper Khan, teaming up with you both musically has changed my world over the last few years. I've learned so much, discovered incredible music and your support when I finally made the jump from Serato to USB's in August made it so much easier. This set would not be what it is without you two.

And finally to all the dancers and revellers, THANK YOU for allowing me to take you on this journey and for staying up for my set on night one. It was a privilege and an honour to play for you all.

Joining the podcast for this episode is a bloke you've more than likely seen on a dance floor somewhere around the world. Despite a long history of globetrotting musical adventures Adzer0 has only recently thrown himself head first into the world of mixing tunes and it's clear to see his passionate commitment to music and the scene flow through to his sets. Trying his hand at a downtempo mix for the first time, we welcome Adzer0 to breathe. Enjoy.

"As someone with a deep passion for music, I have always been drawn to a vast and eclectic range of genres. But while my musical tastes are broad, my affinity for downtempo electronica has remained steadfast and deeply rooted, making this mix a true labour of love.

Venturing into the world of DJing has been an exciting new challenge for me over the past few years. While I am quite comfortable now with house, techno and drum n bass (some of my other loves), until now I haven't attempted putting together a downtempo electronica mix, and I was determined to curate a 2-hour mix of some of my all-time favourite artists in this genre.

The process of selecting tracks from such a large multitude of talented artists and exceptional tracks was daunting, but my desire to showcase some of the best downtempo electronica led me to curate a selection that I am truly proud of.

Crafting a cohesive and seamless mix of tracks with noticeable variations in bpm and key was no easy feat for me but I rose to the challenge, spending many hours pouring my soul into the process, resulting in a mix that I am excited to share with fellow enthusiasts of this captivating genre".

Here is the recording from my Micro Jaxon alias set from Esoteric Festival 2023
I played at 8:30 in the morning on Sunday. There were very few attendees to begin with (was absolutely ok though). 
It completely filled my heart right up seeing a small gander of beautiful friends that came to get there ears tendered too. 

Upon the first mix, I found myself delving into my special 'breaking the barriers' headspace, 
I so often find myself in. 
I could really feel into the experimental sound collage dynamic flow...

In this mix, there is a style of mixing quite coherent in the sound.
I call it 'gut instinct, devine cosmic timing, sound art blends' purposely in a collaging state, mixing different tempos together, ripe with an array of effects to marry unexpected contrasts in a full spectrum audio archive analysis.

Christopher tours up and down the east coast of Australia tearing through clubs and festivals with his distinctive dance floor sound, pleasing the ears and souls at Esoteric Festival, Elements Festival, Earth Frequency Festival, Rabbits Eat Lettuce, Bohemian Beatfreaks, Love Camp, SASH, Sub Rosa, My Aeon, Breakfast Club, BushTechno, Revolver, Camp Paprika, Melt, Elsewhere Club and many other events/venues. He's played support DJ slots for internationals, such as Robert Babicz, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Henry Saiz, Danny Howells, Marc Marzenit, Max Cooper and Claude VonStroke, just to name a few... as well as top Australian artists such as, Doppel, ThankYou City, Jamie Stevens, Fabrication, Tom Baker, Unknown Concept, Biomass and many more.

Christopher's interest and love of sound led him to a Bachelor of Music Technology degree at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, where he developed advanced skills in sound engineering, sound design and music composition. In addition to producing, touring original live sets and DJing, Christopher also runs and operates, Studio B, an audio specialist service for pre + post production, sound design, mixing and mastering for music, live sound, online advertisements and TV media.
