today on phosphor, i am humbled to be joined by the multi-hyphenate musician-extraordinaire, and staple of the Reno scene, Mark Sexton (@sextonselections). mark brings us his "soulful analog sounds" which are reminiscent of Mark's signature vinyl style defined by eclectic global selections driven by anything-but-stilted grooves and a deep loves of those old 45s. you can find Mark with his vinyl setup at bars and clubs all around the region as well as with his touring band, The Sextones, who are about to start a European tour. check out the interview at the end of Mark's set where i find more about how he balances all aspects of his music career and then stayed tuned for the response mix i put together. enjoy!

on phosphor today, we are bringing back the thumping low end bass rattlers with Truckee's very own, DANEGER (@dane-nyborg). Daneger brings us a set of what he has christened "Bass Music and Riddim had a baby and his name's Daneger." Jimmy has been a foundational part of the house music scene that currently exists in Reno through co-founding A House Party, an active member of The Biggest Little Tribe (BLT), hosts a yearly campout (Bartledoo), and has been instrumental in bringing Dead Ringer up to the standard it currently holds as the best club in Reno. we'll find out how Jimmy got started in music after playing some percussion in middle school (of course he did!), and then how he connected with the Reno scene to get where we are today. check out my response set at the end. enjoy!
