the gut of the sea

Christopher McAteer is an award-winning composer from the north coast of Ireland. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, his music has been performed in the UK, Ireland, and Canada by ensembles including the Philharmonia Orchestra. In 2013 he won the RPS Composition Prize. In 2015 he composed a full-length opera about Roger Casement with funding from Arts Council Ireland. He also works as a policy officer for an well-known environmental NGO and is completing a PhD in Social and Political Thought at York University, Canada (remotely). He lives in Belfast.
