Sulk Magic returns with it's third collection of left-field recordings, taking a darker route on this multi-layered six-track EP. Mexican producer Tkuz (Clouded Vision/ Le Dame Noir) shares this "nefarious industrial chugger". Sonar bleeps and bounding bass propel it forward before it becomes submerged in the darkness. Horror rave synth stabs and bottomless sci-fi vox samples drown the dancer, in this eerie and foreboding techno tackle.

Tom Tom Disco (@richardrossa), the Stockholm based label representing artists such as Rigopolar and Ali Kuru to name a few  invite Austrian duo @HanzoandYaman to the family. Who are are a DJ/Producer duo and the creative force behind Belly Dance Services, a label based in Vienna and Istanbul. 

Their latest Ep 'Tropicalas' consists of three originals and accompanying remixes from Lily Haz, Richard Rossa, and Tony Disco. Our pick of the release is the original of “Tropicalas” though due to its raw percussive bass-driven melody and vocals which elevate the energy of the track.

'Countdown' it's the first bonus track as 'digital exclusive', an original mix which starts with sounds answering each other like an engine before blast off. A cool baseline appears, the hi-hat set the rhythm, synthetic sounds play along the track, the tensions grows, the bass hit hard. A a halo of mystery envelops the song's cadence, the trance is absolute. Weird synths emerge to complete what could perfectly be the soundtrack of a Hitchcock movie.

Earlier this year the São Paulo duo Phillipi & Rodrigo dropped their beautifully uplifting debut album ‘Paciencia’, which earned the backing of an eclectic array of supporters. Now Phillipi is set to release his debut solo EP ‘Amadurecimento’ 

While ‘Paciencia’ pulsated with a euphoric beach party vibe, Phillipi’s solo project explores much darker territory. By uncompromisingly maximising the bass alongside a relentless beat, lead track ‘São Paulo’ is immediately oppressive and ominous. That intensity only amplifies as it’s blown open with tribal percussion, almost whispered vocals and glitchy synth stabs. ‘Vibe De Verao’ then takes a more progressive approach, with minimalist techno constantly evolving in surprising and inventive ways.

The EP’s second half extends Phillipi’s impossible-to-pigeonhole approach. In complete contrast to the preceding tracks, ‘9000’ is cinematic in scope and lighter in tone, feeling like the score to a lost ‘70s sci-fi cult classic that’s been reworked for 2019. And ‘Gelo Seco’ caps an unorthodox sonic adventure by setting a spliced, stuttered vocal simple around a dancefloor-friendly soundscape - making the title, the Portuguese phrase for dry ice, entirely appropriate.

Marching across the plains, they moved with pride and precision amidst the outback which was perilous for such magnificent creatures. They had become used to the trials and tribulations of the country, yet as the rain fell and the trotted onwards across the vast expanse of ashy green and brown they could not help but fear the worst. Each elephant was hot property and very much in demand. Cars hot tailed them along dusty desert roads and rocky paths whilst hunters watched on with an evil eye. They were each as twisted as the next and deserved the same feat. 

Eyes of Others is set to release a new EP via Edinburgh based record label Paradise Palms, an off centre, eclectic electronic focussed label which continues to grow. The EP is rounded off by a remix from Manfredas, a firm favourite.

A many-headed initiative, comprising of their own charitable foundation, it’s much more of a movement. A movement that channels the energy of its love for meaningful, forward-thinking house and techno to raise awareness, funds and spirits.

Since launching last year they've welcomed the likes of Sascha Funke, Roe Deers, Damon Jee, Khidja, Curses and, of course, @TheRealHeidenreich. An emerging Berlin-based artist, also one half of indie dance act Leggings, he made his debut on Sinchi earlier this year on their ‘Altered States Vol 2’ collection and now, following releases on Nein and Cielo, returns with another heady delight ‘Je Palpite’…

More of an adventure than a song, ‘Je Palpite’ spends its stately nine minutes roaming without restriction. Electro in texture, free in spirit, the worming bassline, harmonic percussion and sudden twists are held together by the provocative Français purrs of experimental, industrial-minded artist @ANGSTvorGRETA. Seductive, sultry and unpredictable; it’s another strike for the artist who’s on a battle to fight binary dance music.

Calypso Records bossman @ThomassJackson closes the show on a much slinkier, trippier tone, using the vocals as textures over the snake-like drum patterns.
