(Winning work of the XIX edition of Radio Creation Contest INAEM-Radio Clásica 2012)
La obra Pájaros en la red, del creador Markus Breuss, ha resultado ganadora de la XIX edición del Concurso de Creación Radiofónica INAEM-Radio Clásica 2012 y  se estrenará el próximo martes 25 de septiembre a las 12:00h en el Instituto Alicantino de Cultura Juan Gil-Albert en el marco de la 28ª edición del Festival de Música de Alicante.

Pájaros en la red es una original propuesta sonora en la que palabras y música se combinan bajo el signo determinante de la programación. Numerosos entrevistados –músicos, instrumentistas, personajes famosos y anónimos, o simples conocidos y allegados al compositor­–, la mayoría de ellos, como el mismo autor señala, pillados “in fraganti”, responden a una pregunta realizada por vía telefónica: “¿Qué significa improvisación (para ti)”? No es esta una entrevista al uso, sino que al hilo de las respuestas, y también de las lecturas de diferentes voces de pasajes de libros clásicos en torno a la improvisación y de otros textos improvisados, Markus Breuss elabora un diálogo plagado de sugerencias entre palabras en distintos idiomas, que alternan lo poético y lo banal, y músicas de diversas procedencias (sonidos electroacústicos, montajes y paisajes sonoros, sampling, etc.) manipuladas, procesadas y recreadas por el autor.

Markus Breuss es compositor, trompetista e investigador de electrónica. Aunque nació en Alstatten (Suiza) en 1956, reside en España desde hace muchos años. Es una figura emblemática de la libertad creativa, ha combinado en su música las más remotas influencias con una revisión drástica de la música popular a partir de la electrónica, el collage y las composiciones de cámara. Su estilo ecléctico y su interés por la música oriental le convierten en uno de los compositores y multi-instrumentistas más singulares del panorama musical europeo

All the royalties (performance and broadcast) of Tears of Sakura will be donate to Momo-Kaki Orphans Fund, an orphan's fund for children who lost their parents in the Great East Japan Earthquake, established by renown artists such as architect Tadao Ando and conductor Seiji Ozawa.

When I started to compose this piece after the hearthquake and the tsunami, my head was filled of pictures from the disaster : field of ruins and desolation. It was supposed to be the beginning of the spring when sakuras are so beautiful in Japan, but, winter was still going on. Instead of the white rain of petal of Sakura, it started to snow ; the trees seemed to be crying. »
