As the sun sets and the city comes alive with the rhythm of the night, the Yokocho awakens to a symphony of laughter and conversation. Families gather around low tables, sharing stories and savouring the flavours of traditional dishes. Friends clink glasses of sake, their voices rising above the din in joyful celebration of camaraderie and connection.

In the midst of this vibrant tapestry of life, the strains of music begin to drift through the air, weaving a melodic narrative that mirrors the ebb and flow of human interaction. Each note, like a thread in the fabric of the Yokocho, binds together the diverse tapestry of souls that call this place home.

As the night wears on and the streets become alive with the glow of lanterns and the chatter of patrons, the music becomes a backdrop to the vibrant tapestry of life unfolding before it. Those recited by David are verses from one of the most famous poems and one of the greatest Italian poets of the 20th century (Eugenio Montale). They are taken from the collection entitled ‘Ossi di seppia’ ('The bones of cuttlefish'), published in Italy in 1925, and several times translated into English (alone or together with other works by Montale).
Many thanks to David (@david-dunhamuser589535203), who agreed to collaborate on this little creation, also adding his refined guitar phrasing. All the (usual) imperfections are mine.

Christopher is a talented multi-instrumentalist, musician, songwriter, teacher and producer from Toowoomba, Queensland in Australia.

Christopher toured Australia when he was 18 years old with a 13 piece band and has been performing ever since.

Christopher is credited with co-writing, recording and producing four instrumental EP’s, his own instrumental album as well as credits on many singles as a songwriter, instrumentalist and producer with many talented Australian songwriters and performers.
