Gerald VDH’s long awaited debut album is about to hit the shelves

After more than ten years on the techno scene, hosting Vienna’s infamous MEAT MARKET parties, playing DJ gigs in some of the best clubs around the globe and releasing four solo EPs on his very own label MEAT Recordings, it is time to take his profile as a producer to the next level.

And this is exactly what SNACKS will do for Gerald. Besides delivering some of his typical techno bangers (PUSH, WASTE OF GOOD CEREAL, WINNING STREAK, EVERY ME) and a breaky roller in the legacy of his hit Otto Wagner Green (FEVER), he has taken some considerable risk by showing a completely new side of his production in the studio: WASH ME and SAIL AWAY are coops with Viennese singers, that could quite plausibly be described as pop songs. GAY DAD offers some Rammsteiny vibes along with some provocative, yet sexy lyrics.

SNACKS also features two amazing remixes by CHRISTOPH FAUST and PROJEKT GESTALTEN. The double 12” vinyl comes in a precious gatefold cover with a breathtaking 3D rendered artwork by Jesus Florez (Bogota, Colombia), which is, in effect, a work of art for itself.

SNACKS will hit the shops and digital platforms in the middle of pride month on June 10th this year.

This is a take I was working out with the help of my dearest friend and musical mastermind Vergil on his modular system / thank you for that buddy ! For me, this song describes the permanent fall and rise again in life. sun and rain in a recurring cycle. missing lost people and appreciating friends. dealing with yourself, reflecting everything and never stopping learning, even when it's the hardest. To stay strong between all the whispers and pause under the raindrops. To motivate yourself for change and the eternal path to yourself.

The selected picture is by Horst Janssen, one of the most moving artists that I was able to get to know on my way through an unforgettable encounter.

Sleepless nights may be plagued by vivid dreams and restless thoughts, further intensifying the ache. It's a pain that's difficult to put into words, a constant nagging feeling that there's something incomplete in your life.

But in this pain, there's also a peculiar beauty. It's a testament to the depth of our connections and the significance of what's missing. It reminds us of the value and impact of those we love or the experiences we cherish. While the pain of missing can be excruciating, it can also be a powerful motivator to reach out, reconnect, or strive to fill the void in our lives with new experiences and memories. It's a reminder that our hearts have the capacity to feel deeply and that the absence of something or someone can be a testament to the love and meaning they brought to our lives.

Unsuccessful Living Without You

Over the years, he has introduced several alias projects, each showcasing his evolving artistry. The alias „Escape To Mars“, which made him first gain international recognition with his distinctive spacey techno sound. Then, a blend between his two passions, rock and electronic music, gave birth to the project „Inhalt Der Nacht“.

After five successful years with „Inhalt Der Nacht,“ Christoph sought greater musical freedom, desiring to create and perform music based on inspiration and emotion without being confined to a specific genre. Now performing under the name Christoph Faust, he continues to surprise audiences with a diverse range of sounds, from techno and house to ambient and breakbeat, always focusing on delivering an unparalleled dance floor experience while pushing creative boundaries.
