lately so much new life situation are coming into my life - moving to Kyiv, creating a family with my partner and a bunch of other stuff which made it timewise difficult to put some tracks together but with working on the laptop and headphones I somehow transferred some of these new emotions into 6 tracks. Christoph Faust marks a return to SEVEN with his first full EP for the label. With this release, he showcases the diversity of House music across four tracks: from tech house to clicky minimal, mysterious deep house, and classic Chicago style, “The Window Upstairs” has it all. 

On the B-side, there’s a surprise remix by Berghain regular and Room Trax co-founder BLANKA, adding a dubby tech house twist. Rounding it off, Lydia Eisenblätter contributes a digital bonus remix of the same track.

To stay strong between all the whispers and pause under the raindrops. To motivate yourself for change and the eternal path to yourself.

The last track on the EP, “A Voicemail,” is built around a message left after an attempted phone call. It touches on themes of longing, desire, and a relationship that didn’t hold. Emotions that translate directly into the composition. An understated dub house cut for the heads. Clicky, dissonant, and rich in texture, driven by chopped-up vocal fragments and, of course, the voicemail itself.

Berlin-based BLANKA debuts on SEVEN, properly flipping Christoph Faust’s “Don’t Stop.” She gives the original a tech house treatment, turning it into a soothing, slightly hypnotic remix while keeping a straightforward rhythm and a big kick-and-clap combination cutting through the mix. Cozy, warm, and well-rounded, this one is made for the afterhours - still highly dancefloor-oriented.

“The Window Upstairs” is a deep, emotional piece that moves between dub techno and house. A homage to the Panorama Bar windows at Berlin’s Berghain and a proper title-giving centerpiece for the EP.

With „Keep it Up“ Christoph Faust sets the mood for this EP. A bouncing tech house cut, packed with groove variations and quirky sound design unfolding around the name giving vocals.
