We come together once again to showcase Aterral's growth over the last year with an undeniably hard-hitting compilation. Our fourth anniversary VA is special, as it brings forth some of our most recent family members and puts them aside older ones.

As part of CUATRO we bring you Black Loops with 'Balance & Harmony', an elegant blend of eclectic sounds and a jerky guitar wah. Carlo & Baloo follow with 'Best Maldito', a track bursting with an infectious rhythm. Intr0beatz’s 'Where The Party At' delves into ambient depth with rippling synths. Marina Trench delivers 'Because We', featuring a playful piano melody and upbeat energy that pushes boundaries with its lively touch.

Caleb Jackson’s 'The Partylife' fuses high energy, gospel influences, and an acidic bassline. Tatie Dee & Ams contribute 'Underwater', a futuristic, bubbly piece with progressive elements. The latest delivery from techno’s rising star, Charlotte de Witte, is an EP teeming with chaotic, hypnotizing groove that has us hitting replay. The young Belgian recently relocated from her hometown of Ghent to Brussels, inspiring the title of this new release, ‘Our Journey’, on Glasgow-based Sleaze Records. Charlotte is no stranger to hypnosis – it’s a hallmark of her work and one of the things that first drew us to her over a year ago – but the title track of this EP is infused with a new twist, thanks to creepy vocals that reach into darker realms. “I don’t know what happened in the studio, but I suppose I got into some state of trance while working on it,” she says.

Fresh off the back of a breakout 2016, replete with a strong release on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings and taking home the Best Producer award at Belgium’s Red Bull Elektropedia Awards (aka, the Oscars of Belgian nightlife), Charlotte de Witte is gearing up for a new year of tours, including in Asia and the US. DJ Mag is pleased to present the premiere of ‘Our Journey’ – and we’re pretty sure it’ll take you on a weird, warped journey of your own.

Whether in the studio or at the turntables, Chris Wayfarer fuses deep house and tech house with sampling from all kinds of electronic styles, jazz, funk and classical music to grow harmonious compositions. Alternating between groovy, funky, rough, melodic, deep and driving qualities: a musical logbook inviting you to listen, to dance and to be happy.
