Here is our first Chromologic Sampler of 2024. Again the same success formula: 5 leading tracks from 5 diverse and exciting artists!


Our first artist comes from Spain: Raul Bergamo a.k.a Drulez, a very experienced producer & dj from Madrid. After a break on Beatport, Drulez makes his comeback on Chrom with a super fresh catchy sound. His track "Boreal" is a clubby Progressive House track that will make you move wherever you are.

Our second artist is a duo: Marc De Koning from Amsterdam and George Yammine from Denmark. George is born and raised in Denmark and has Lebanese roots. His sound is sophisticated and has a Danish sobriety filled with Lebanese warmth. Combined with the typical Dutch deep progressive sound of Marc, their collab resulted in their track "Accelerator", a driving Progressive House master piece.

Third artist is Giulio Tricarico aka GIU3, a young artist from Italy, who likes to experiment with combining melodic elements and aggressive sounds, as you can hear in his Melodic track called "Armonia". With recent releases on Polyptych Limited, TRAUMWEG, Natura Viva and now Chrom, he is an upcoming artist to watch.

Our fourth artist is also from Italy: Jacopo Squillante aka IN-sane. You should know him from his Chrom EP "Antares" which was released a half year ago and did very well on our label. Since then he had releases on Ballroom, Superordinate, Polyptych ,UNCLES, Cafe De Anatolia LAB, Sounds and Frequencies,... His new Chrom track is called "Reality": powerful Melodic Techno as we are used from him.

And last but not least, our fifth artist is a Chrom core member who needs little introduction: Fernando Lagreca, an Uruguayan born but Spanish adopted son – based in Barcelona since the early 2000's. Fernando Lagreca is one of the most solid and analog-gear enthusiasts when it comes to composing and performing electronic & techno live sets on the southern side of Europe. His new Chrom track "In the Park" is Indie Dance at it's best!

Balkan Connection celebrates their 800th release with a special collaborative project from label mainstays Nicholas Van Orton and Ewan Rill. Hailing from Argentina, Ariel Gandolfo aka Nicholas Van Orton has been a figure of the global progressive scene for the better part of two decades. A creative partnership with Balkan Connection was forged early on with an appearance on the label’s first ever ‘Balkanians’ collection, a release which landed in March of 2008. The eventual formation of Balkan Connection South America, an imprint guided by Van Orton, would only strengthen ties going forward. Fast forward to present day and the Buenos Aires resident has racked up over two hundred discography credits across the two imprints. Meanwhile, Russian artist and Sever Records boss Ewan Rill has been a mainstay of the progressive house underground since first emerging in 2011. Balkan Connection's 'Balkanians Vol. 11' collection served as the vehicle for Ewan’s first ever release, and it’s safe to say he found a comfortable home on Serbian imprint where he has now racked up an impressive 135 discography credits . Now thirteen years later he stands as one of the genre’s most storied artists, with a hefty discography highlighted by projects for  esteemed imprints such as Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden. With Balkan Connection celebrating their 800th release it seems only appropriate that the label calls upon two of their most long standing artists in Nicholas and Ewan to collaborate on a special project entitled ‘Subliminal’. 

Beginning with the title selection Nicholas and Ewan combine their extensive forces for a groovy slice of progressive house. Full of mystical qualities, the cross-continental duo smoothly blends punchy kick drums and chunky grooves, with brooding synth motifs and clattering percussive arrangements, resulting in a prophetic path into the main break. Looking to bring a greater sense of tension during the interlude, it’s a trail of percolating effects and icy pads that blankets loops of fuzzed out percussion, before a slow-burning build smoothly segues into a finale that is equal parts ominous and groovy.

Selection two ‘Animal Ritual' finds Ewan operating in solo capacity and maintaining the deep brooding qualities of its predecessor. Mysterious and trippy throughout, its chunky cadence instantly commands your attention, through snatches of flashing percussion, orbiting effects and phasing atmospherics. Metallic synth mutations provide a bridge into the main break, adding further depth and intrigue, before eventually melting down into a wall of pyrotechnic effects and suitably sinister finale. 

Beneath the ominous sounds of ‘Animal Ritual’ lies the energetic qualities of 'Hello My Name Is'. Van Orton mans the controls here, operating in solo capacity and ultimately crafting a track for those peak time dancefloor moments. Driving and hypnotic in equal measure, it’s a foundation of rippling bass tones which sets the pace for deconstructed vocals and devilish effects to fully saturate your senses. Holographic synths flash through a whirlwind of clustered electronics and coral monochromes across the main break, eventually building to an arcane peak which not only rounds out Balkan Connection’s 800th offering on a strong note, but adds yet another club tool to your arsenal.

EMA Premiere: Karada, Pedro Mercado - Horizon [Chrom Recordings]

We proudly present our hundredth Chrom release !!! The attentive followers of our label might have noticed that we had skipped this number because in the mean while we reached already catalogue number 108. Reaching release number 100 is a huge milestone that we simply could not ignore, so we had to do something really special, and this took some time. But the result is more than worth it: is a 10-track album from our own label manager Pedro Mercado and his fixed studio partner Karada, aptly called "#100" !

Since the start of Chrom Recordings, Pedro Mercado has had not less than exactly 100 appearances on our label, of which 37 in collaboration with Karada! This resulted in many original tracks, several EP's and a lot of remixes. We collected their 7 leading originals over the 7 years we exist, and bundled them into 1 album. In addtion to these, the duo created 3 brand-new tracks to make the album complete. One of those new ones is the opening track "Panorama", a metaphore for their oeuvre on Chrom Recordings and another great example of their own unique sound: always catchy, always melodic, without following hypes, but with the aim to create timeless masterpieces!
