The second release on Phonique’s new label Zatar Music comes from Jordanian duo Fairplay: a gorgeous, deep, melodic house cut inspired by their local heritage and featuring vocals from Sahrawi singer Mariem Hassan.

Bringing a modern perspective to nomadic-style music, Jordanian alternative duo Fairplay intricately weave musical textures, with their music characterized by an eclectic, deep, and unpredictable approach. Releasing on labels like Kindisch, Stil Vor Talent and Bar 25 their approach favours organic sounds, often focussing on the trippy and the obscure, to create deeply layered, spellbinding productions.

Formed by Faisal and Fuad who met in their native Jordan before moving to study in the UK and USA, the duo started out promoting their Kollective Music parties, which welcomed electronic stars like Phonique, DJ T., Subb-An and Mihai Popoviciu. Buoyed by the success of these events they formed Fairplay and started Djing and producing together.

From the very start the music they made had always been deep, unpredictable and evocative, with Fairplay often incorporating Middle Eastern and Arabic sounds and instruments into their productions. Now Fairplay enter a new chapter of their sound with the release of Latlal.  

Inspired by their rich cultural heritage, they combine their trademark hypnotic melodies, with an evocative vocal sample, resulting in a track that embodies their message of staying true to ones roots while simultaneously being an entirely modern slice of melodic house. 

On the remix, longtime collaborators Anturage & Alexey Union bring their own unique flavour to Latal. Harnessing the uplifting power of Hassan’s vocal sample, they steadily build layers of percussion and synthlines, creating a crisp, progressive cut that patiently builds the tension. 

Zatar Music is a new label from Berlin-based award-winning producer Phonique, which launched in July 2022 with a brand new remix of Feel What You Want  - one of his best-loved records - from Ukraine’s breakout star Korolova.

Kuré (AR) - The Beginning [3rd Avenue]

Culturally inspired Turkish artist Menachem 26’s unique sonic palate is rife with shards of ottoman influence and endless intrinsic rhythms. Renowned for releases on Harabe, Metanoia, trndmsk and many more, he brings his striking ‘Kumkapi Blues’ back around on The Gardens Of Babylon two years after its original release for a spirited readaptation, including remixes from Valeron, Anatolian Sessions and DJ Bey.

The release begins with the original mix of ‘Kumkapi Blues’, sliding into a sea of downtempo looseness and swaying sonics. Its core of undeniably cultured instrumental elements flow like a calming tide as rippling melodies glide across a bed of live hand percussion and enchanting strings, supplemented with sweeping FX and modulating scales to bring a hypnotically charming record from start to finish.

Valron’s remix brings a firmer edge on the original. Leaning softly into the blurred space between melodic techno and deep house, its endless array of ottoman-inspired factors meet a subtly driving bed of drums and intensifying energy before bleeding into freefalling breakdown and onto another gripping combination of roughened beats and charming musicality.

Anatolian Sessions follows up with another dancefloor-focused rendition, taking a stripped back approach that continues to build progressively across the mix. Its original persona ebbs and flows throughout the track, ducking and diving through peaks of climactic builds and disappearing back into the midst of an undeniably groove-laden construction of winding FX, masterful modulation and driving club energy.

DJ Bey flips the switch with an alluring remix, taking things back onto the realm of organic house with downtempo energy and primal beat structures. Building around the track’s mesmerising flute lead, its undeniably hedonistic aura pulls you in and hangs on tight from beginning to end.

Menachem 26 seals the release with a surprisingly leftfield spin, seeing the alternative mix float between Minimal and Breaks with an attractively shuddering beat structure and winding synth stairs. Retaining all of the original’s unique personality, this latest take on the track gives it a revamped gusto and grittier edge.

The ruins date back to hellenistic era approximately 300 BC. Cicero describes Olympos as a city full of wealth and art.
Olympos is not only a city and a mountain but also home to Chimera a mythical creature with the head of a lion, the body of a goat, and the tail of a snake. 


The coast around Olympos is one of the loveliest spots in all of Turkey and home to a wide range of flora and fauna.

'Amen' is the debut single from Israel's Molla on Redolent Music. He paired up with the trendy Israel singer Kobi Marimi with his intense Hebrew virtuoso's buoyant vocals. The track is a musical dialogue between the different sounds and drum rhythms alongside a sophisticated melody. The bassline fills the deep-rooted substratum with organic elements letting the track tread elegantly from start to finish. 
Anorre delivers an organic remix full of organic percussions, ancestral influences, deep trance, and driving rhythms. The Israelites push new frontiers of sound and own it in this lasting finale.

Tebra is definitely one of the most eccentric and unique producers on the scene. His music is a fusion of organic grooves with trance melodies laced with ethnic details. And this time, like every previous one, Tebra delivers a great original that will leave a strong impact on all fans of club sound. The track called "Blasma", in addition to the original performance, also receives a reinterpretation by one of the best musicians from the Hungarian scene, Peter Makto, who this time opts for a slightly softer performance and a deeper club groove.
