Another special release on Chrom: the first EP of our own label manager Pedro Mercado since the pandemic started! With this old school acid inspired collab called "Our Revolution" together with Phi-Phi, a living legend in Belgium, Pedro realises one of his childhood dreams.

French DJ and producer Phi-Phi played a key role in developing and popularizing the progressive house sound during the 90's. You can for sure say that he is one of the pioneers and founders of the electronic scene in Belgium with lots of residencies in legendary Belgian clubs where he played together with DJ's like Paul van Dyk, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Anthony Pappa, Sasha, Laurent Garnier, Oliver Lieb,... Phi-Phi is known for his excellent DJ mixing skills and storytelling sets. Production wise his long-time cohort with Philippe Van Mullem (R.I.P.) resulted in projects such as, Honey C, UNA, Innertales and Quadran. Phi-Phi had also some collaborations with Gregory Dewindt (Greg D), The Mackenzie, Roddy Reynaert and Airwave. All the tunes became Belgian or even European club hits. Nowadays Phi-Phi is mainly teaming up with Manu Riga and producing for himself a proper sound of quality melodic progressive electronic music. So needless to say that we are more than happy that Phi-Phi teamed up with our own label manager Pedro Mercado for this special collab on Chrom.

"After the huge succes of our Daniel Pinho EP in July, Chrom proudly presents another typcial summer EP. The artist behind our new one is Matt Dwellers. Born and bred in France, Matt moved to Australia. After dwelling within deep and melodic atmospheres throughout Australia, Matt Dwellers' sound has grown in experience and enthusiasm for out-of-the-box creation. From Melbourne to Brisbane, he has made it through many venues and festivals with the same hunger for new experiences and enlightment. With melancholic elements often overthrown by brilliant melodies, Matt's creations fell within a range of deep progressive and minimal styles. But Matt has now returned to his homeland and is willing to explore a whole new direction in his own genre. Discover his sound in this beautifull EP called "Marginal" which he made for Chrom and contains 3 orginals.

On top of that we also added 2 remixes. On the first one we take the chance to present you AkpaLa: the brand-new Organic House project of our own label manager Pedro Mercado together with his female partner Na Te, which they started up during the covid lockdowns. AkpaLa stands for sexy, bohemian, hedonistic, oriental, ethnic, shamanic and spiritual sounds with a female touch – inspired by events such as Burning Man and Gardens of Babylon. AkpaLa released already 1 official remix under this new monniker (for Marcovits on Uzons Records), so this one for Chrom is their second one, with a lot more to come in the near future! The second remix comes from Grzegorz Ochman, aka Greg Ochman, from Kalwaria Zebrzydowska in Poland. Greg has found himself touted as one of the next big things in the allconquering European Organic House scene. The Polish producer has had an impressive run of recent quality releases and remixes on labels such as Lost Miracle, Radiant., Bar25, Go Deeva, Plattenbank, Univack, Warung, Dialtone Artvibes,... so we are more than happy to have him now on Chrom."

You should know by now that Chrom Recordings is not afraid to give unknown talent a chance, on the contrary it's one of our most important goals and an integral part of our vision and mission. This time we give the chance to ANKID to make his official beatport debut. ANKID is a DJ and producer from Astana, Kazakhstan. Dance music was always part of his life. He started to produce in 2020, working on his own music style, suited perfectly for the club, build around melodic chords and strong grooves. His sound is atmospheric and hypnotic, with emphasis on emotions sitting somewhere on the border between melancholy and a certain darkness. Time to discover his sound in his first EP ever, called "Interstellar", containing 3 original tracks!
