Having worked for years in a duo, first as 3 Channels and now as the lauded, world-touring house outfit Catz ’n Dogz, Polish producer Voitek Taranczuk’s project, Ketiov, is personal. It is about focusing on his own process and creative instincts — after all, Ketiov is Voitek in reverse. Here, he indulges his boundary-breaking impulses, crossing genres and experimenting with sound. Ketiov grew up in Poland, where as a young dj hosted parties and build his musical taste. Few years ago moved from Berlin to Madrid where he continues his journey. He is a resident at Cafe Berlin in Madrid and with his husband David Rigote, started the very successful LGBTQ+ party CARBS. Releasing tracks himself and mostly on vinyl, Ketiov has repressed his 2017 “Ketiov A/B” twice due to popular demand, and received strong feedback for “Ketiov Edits 01” (Jan 2018) and “Ketiov C/D&E” (Feb 2018). “Rhythm Trainx Vol 2,” his piece de resistance featuring huge sound and only one drummer, was released on Gerd Janson’s Running Back in May 2018.

Ketiov’s innovative rhythmic play and effortless mixing of deep house, disco, techno and 90s house have landed him Dj mixes with the infamous Honey Soundsystem, Buttons, Is Burning and dance sets at clubs all around Europe including Panorama Bar and the world at large. Ketiov believes in order to be a great collaborator, one needs to pursue their own projects alongside. Only time will tell how Voitek’s addictive sound will evolve on his own and in his powerful collaborations.

PREMIERE: Ketiov - PIB Tribute [Ketiov]

Scopic Records - a new UK label which aims to "bring newcomers and artists with backgrounds, regardless of their background or gender" - launches with a single by its founder New Digital Fidelity in collaboration with singer Monet. We get three nicely different mixes of 'Getting Colder' in all. The A-side is taken up by the club mix, a classic New York deep house groove with chunky pianos chords and Monet's confident vocal performance. The flip begins with the original, a slower version but still effortlessly groovy, bringing its soul, jazz, and R&B influences to the fore. US techno's man of the moment Byron the Aquarius completes the set by turning the track inside out with shuffling hats, snapping machinefunk snares and a bubbling bass, making it even more impressive by exposing its moving parts and giving them a neat polish.

After their debut album ‚Behind the Roof’ from last December, here’s Haushausen & Dub Taylor's first single. ‚Der Sonne Glut‘ is a very unusual and personal German language hymn to the joys of cycling up a hill in summertime. For full excitement, we recommend listening to the original Lange Version (long version) but we also added a short version (Kurze Version) for those already in a hurry to get their bikes out. Besides Mirko, Andre and Alex ‚Der Sonne Glut‘ also features a friend of the Haus: Oli on Guitar.

Following the worldwide underground success of their first EP, with radio plays from LA to The White Isle and 6 Music's very own don dada Mr Letts himself, the ruesome twosome of the light aircraft trade return with four more slices of the good stuff. 

Having been busy consolidating their assets by way of opening their own bespoke aerodrome on the outskirts of Strelley and hosting a weekly Japanese reggae karaoke night in Mansfield Woodhouse that has left the locals literally speechless, the winged avengers have also been taking up the mic as can be heard on the opening party starters 'Got to Let Go' and 'Got To Go Insane': a pair of good time groovers for the party people for sure.

Matsui Hi-Fi then drops some rougher than rough bass business in the place, before Carry On eases up the tempo and slaps open the soul controls for an end of night tearjerker. Four cuts, four prime examples of what the pilots are all about.
They come in peace and they come in planes: what's not to like, right?
