Torso Funk - Did You Know?(livecut)

Scopic Records - a new UK label which aims to "bring newcomers and artists with backgrounds, regardless of their background or gender" - launches with a single by its founder New Digital Fidelity in collaboration with singer Monet. We get three nicely different mixes of 'Getting Colder' in all. The A-side is taken up by the club mix, a classic New York deep house groove with chunky pianos chords and Monet's confident vocal performance. The flip begins with the original, a slower version but still effortlessly groovy, bringing its soul, jazz, and R&B influences to the fore. US techno's man of the moment Byron the Aquarius completes the set by turning the track inside out with shuffling hats, snapping machinefunk snares and a bubbling bass, making it even more impressive by exposing its moving parts and giving them a neat polish.

Growing up with and influenced by the sounds of TR-909 or TR-808 which surrounds you, then you would recognize Adham Zahran's signature sound and his unique skills when he plays with rhythms and catchy melodies, especially on this 'Grain Galaxy'. He also brings us tracks such as 'Ocean Falls' and 'Synth Funk Suit 1' full of pleasant dreamy vibrations that would sound amazing at your local venue, as well as if you just let the decks play at home for your own listening session. Head of Umanuto Records Javas remixed the original 'Grain Galaxy' as a classic house leg warmer to get it moving on the dance floor.

Fresh from a 3 month residency in Japan, which saw a string of live and DJ sets, ASTRYD return with four new cuts. Written and recorded in London throughout 2022, Skin Hunger EP is their first release of 2023.

The EP comes out on the duo's own imprint Dialogue, the label arm of the parties which have been running in Bristol and London over the past 6 years. Dialogue has hosted a diverse and eclectic selection of artists and DJ’s over this time including Loraine James, Giant Swan, object blue, Batu, Akua, Delay Grounds and more.

Dancefloor focused 404:badpathway kicks things off, ‘This track was road tested at multiple clubs in Japan and quickly became a favourite of ours basically based on how much audiences reacted to it.’

After their debut album ‚Behind the Roof’ from last December, here’s Haushausen & Dub Taylor's first single. ‚Der Sonne Glut‘ is a very unusual and personal German language hymn to the joys of cycling up a hill in summertime. For full excitement, we recommend listening to the original Lange Version (long version) but we also added a short version (Kurze Version) for those already in a hurry to get their bikes out. Besides Mirko, Andre and Alex ‚Der Sonne Glut‘ also features a friend of the Haus: Oli on Guitar. 

As always, all tracks mixed by Stefan Janson and mastered by Salz Mastering.
