It was a fortuitous happenstance Chromatone spent nearly a year in Russia near the Stupendous Sound Source: SAMADHI.  After the first session it was clear that they had a fantastic studio synergy and could create a special and unique blend of trance. I found the files for this classic collection and quickly re-did the kick and bass over the original stems.  A foreshadowing of remixes from this very special moment in psytrance history!

Hyper Frequencies + Chromatone  = Twisting Tower (SteMix)

This is a sort of remix but more of a finished version of the original for me.  I started it in Cape Town with Gareth and Anton, but they finished the track and immediately released it on Nano before I could do anything else to it.  I loved a lot of what they did but one of the samples and the long break were not quite my style.  I replaced the Kik and Bass, added loops, sound effect, pumped the leads, added edit tricks, and created a breakdown with more action.  I was hesitant to put it as the first track on the album, just because is wasn't entirely "new", but it was the only logical spot.  Now this is really one of my favorites on the album, a deep and powerful track dripping with heavy vibes.

01 Chromatone + Commercial Hippies = Antidote (Silence Sux)140E

Earthling and K.i.M. originally started this tune and then sent it to me.  There was a lot of strange sounds from both glitched out synths and animal samples but it was quite the messy menagerie.  One night of fun for the boys in Brighton became countless hours of clean up work for me, hence my title as "Track Janitor".  I meticulously constructed the multifaceted main lead that peaks out the track, and it definitely claims a spot in the top 10 best all time "Chroma Riffs".  I added more mutilated animal sounds, stretching and graining them with my secret weapon "Meta Synth"  At one point I had lost a save and had to re do half of the arrangement.  This an exceptionally fun tune with great concept that I’m ultra exited to have on my album!

03 Everblast + KiM = Party Animals 143G

After finding a lovely new Russian partner in Goa (now my wife), I began visiting there regularly.  Staying outside of St. Petersburg I didn't really know anyone, but luckily Samadhi lived nearby.  We had met a few times briefly at festivals and corresponded online.  He even did a remix of my track "Mind Fog".  Now we finally had a change to jam after so many years.  

      His music had a lot of cool elements but lacked clarity, so I helped him a bit with his production technique (his new sound is killer).  I soon discovered he was an absolute sound sorcerer with a vast collection of synthesizers loaded with his custom settings!  When working with Samadhi most of my time is spent cutting, effecting, and compositing the endless stream of recordings that flood in.  Together we bring a broad spectrum of ideas, highlighting why collaborations are the best way to produce music.   This was our first track together, and still one of the best.  The name "WodkaNaughts" is indicative of our personalities: Samadhi is quite cosmic... I like to drink ;)

     I wasn’t even sure if this track was particularly good until i sent it to Earthling who played it for the first time at Modem festival with rave reviews!  We had such good results in the studio and ample time to do several tracks, so we decided to go for a full album and live set together!  "High Contrast" was delayed as a result of these sessions and we are very exited for all of our upcoming material!

04 Chromatone + Samadhi = WodkaNaughts 146G

I have known Vince “Virtual Light” long before he was the superstar he is now.  This enthusiastic kid from Canada would bring me up to play in Montreal and contributed some good bits of music too.  “Psypress Pill” is one of the most epic tunes in my repertoire, a product of great sessions with Vince and Random in -20c Canadian winter.  One of our most fun moments together was when Earthling closed Ozora festival with it, we were thrilled, and this led to another of our track titles “Victory Stride”.  Vince also made my "Wasabi" album cover from an image that he lost but had randomly sent to me!  Anyhow…

 Swingception was started when we were both in Capetown at Regans’ house ( at the same time as Antidote).  It didn’t get any attention until the next year in Goa when I yearned to unleash a new high energy track on the plentiful events there.  I toiled tenaciously in headphones but the vibes of Goa still worked some magic to make this a mighty magnificent masterpiece!  It was released originally on a compilation but didn’t get much attention.  However it was just to good of a tune, so i spruced it up for the Album ;)

Got up at 5am, ate 10 pretzels and a sandwich, drank 2 shots of Unicum, ran down the hill to set up and proceeded to have one of the greatest days of my life! They saved the blessed for Blast on grand finale Day 7 of the largest Ozora to date!
