The ep kicks off with Born to Be Loud, a song I first wrote over 20+ years ago when I was just learning to play, heavily inspired by Oasis’s Rock ’n’ Roll Star. Revisiting it from my old demo, I wasn’t sure it would make the cut—some of the lines feel a bit cheesy to sing now, two decades later—but it’s hard to deny it still works as a proper opener. Big, loud, and unapologetic, it sets the tone as a banger right from the start.

Coming off this spring's Dope Boy Magick album, PO PO's leader Jahan Zeb Malik is working on this new solo project for Mad Decent & Jeffrees. We're putting out this Tom Petty cover as a first taste of his more refined sound - DNT COME AROUND HERE takes the rough psychedelic edges that were all over DBM and blends them with some kind of gunshot trap version of a Tom Petty rhythm section plus sitar. The sound is one of Jahan's crispest to date and a clear window on things to come.
