Desert Lines-Glacial  [Mellon Place Records]

For REC008, we have the honour of showcasing an exciting artist from Switzerland: Manuel Moreno. Manuel has been active in the scene for many years, with releases on labels such as Ritter Butzke, Amaeo, Hive Audio and Kamai Music. In addition to being an active resident at Hive for over ten years, he is well-known for creating iconic brands such as his event series 'Au Revoir' and co-owning the agency 'Send Return'.

His two-track EP 'Elysian' highlights his diverse range of sounds. The title track impresses with a steady groove, captivating chord stabs, and layered synths that demand attention — the perfect closing track for any set. 'Swedenborg', on the other hand, reveals his darker side. A hypnotic, rumbling foundation is elevated by the magnificent voice of Natasha Waters, resulting in a track that will shake dance floors.

To round out the release, two exciting producers join the Reconsider roster. For the main track, Predex, a promising producer from Istanbul, gives 'Elysian' a melodic yet groovy touch. 'Swedenborg' is reinterpreted by none other than James Harcourt, who transforms it into a dark, tribal dancefloor belter with his signature progressive sound.

The very ethos of the Curates series entails inviting artists from different genres of music. Artists that we feel that have unique approaches towards their storytelling, who share our mission to selflessly spread music - gracing us with an exclusive narrative of their signatures!

The next guest in our series is a 28 year old Mexican artist, confirming that age is not a prerequisite to showcasing one's sounds. We've had our eyes on him over these recent years - a developing entity, constantly expanding boundaries to attain darker levels of sound. His obscene musical experiments have nurtured regular support in the higher realms of Tech-Trance - driving him further on his road of gross sonic misconduct.

Releasing an artist album is a rite of passage and is every musician's dream. So for our next guest, we have a special continous album mix from a London based Retro/Psychedelic Producer, whose hypnotically acid affairs with 303 basslines make him truly unique. He recently released his debut album on the celebrated 'Joof Recordings', and rightfully finds himself within the Top 10 of Beatport Top 100 Releases Charts.

In his own words: 
"Why Wander? To roam, to ramble ... I hope you listen to this album and let it take your mind, body and spirit to the warm and wonderful alien soundscapes that I took such pleasure in creating. Performing live for decades, Toronto based DJ Producer, Amber Long, has trademarked a sound that is svelte and uniquely her own. Sought after globally and supported by big name artists like Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Aly & Fila, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, her lyrics, voice and productions are well known amongst the Underground Music Community. 
Passionate and animated, Amber is the living demonstration of an artist who loves her work and continually tears up dance floors across the world.  
Long broke into the international DJ scene playing at Ministry of Sound in London, followed with gigs in; Qatar, Greece, Netherlands, Israel, Argentina, USA, Mexico, Jamaica, and Spain. Amber’s live vocals at Ministry of Sound set her apart from other DJs on the scene as one of the only female producers to perform live vocals during a set. ADE 2016 and 2017 and in Buenos Aires were treated to this one of a kind performance her fans have come to know and love. Long sings live for what she deems special occasions. 
 
Aside from DJing globally, Amber Long runs Toronto-based independent labels; Modern Agenda, Modern Architect and Honey Drops – all brands that focus on giving back to their large roster of artists. Modern Agenda is rapidly becoming a go-to label for music lovers and artists alike and Honey Drops carries a different flavor, encouraging artists to share their ambient and down tempo creations.
