a commission for @nununoisy! he wanted an FDS cover of this classic from kirby and the forgotten land, and since i've been meaning to cover a song from this game for ages i naturally jumped at the chance. i'm really happy with how the FDS FM synths turned out!

don't know if this is possible to pull off on hardware, given potential sync issues between Mega CD and MegaDrive, but as a proof of concept I rather quite enjoyed making this!

I've been reminded the 30th birthday of the original Megaman X passed, so I decided to cover something far more fun from a later game in the franchise!

In all seriousness, it was a good excuse to finally cover something I've been itching to do for years, and finally felt I truly could do justice. I hope you enjoy my take on this vibe-y yet tense piece!

Megaman X5 - Dark Necrobat (MKT Arrange)

Sorry it's been a while! I hit a major dry spot and haven't been able to produce anything that has really met my standards.

I started listening to Tim Follin's Time Trax stuff as well as things like the Valis III soundtrack; I then got inspired to play around with FM8 and try and get some Megadrive sounds.

I didn't intend to make a full track but here it is!

This isn't really a chiptune per se, I've probably gone beyond the Megadrive's capabilities but I reckon with a bit of tweaking you could definitely get this sounding very similar on an actual Megadrive.
