Description: My interpretation of the traditional Scots ballad and tune. Lady Carolina Nairne (1766-1845) wrote these lyrics for the tune, the origin of which is unknown. Rowan Tree appeared in R. A. Smith's Scottish Minstrel (1822). Played in CGDGBE (Capo II), a G tuning with a low C as used by Steve Cooney.

Simple folk song about coming to grips with the complex and strange world we live in and a call for people to hear music as an antidote to cynicism.
