For me this has been my 14th year of Lärz magic at Fusion Festival! I had the times of my life on these festival grounds, I made so many connections, danced to endless DJ sets and concerts and still return with my homies every year.

Finally I could give sth. back and hope you can relate. With old and new releases from the last two decades, the set reflects all those past 14 years - an ode to life -with all those stories in different shades to tell.

This is the recording of my set I played at Wahn & Sinn, a fundraiser party of 'Freundlicher Mob' at 'Kulturhaus Kili'. This night felt like in a dream - being  captivated by the atmosphere created by so many dedicated people and being honoured to play after @renegadesofjazz and @holgerhecler!

The donations went to Watch The Med – Alarmphone, a hotline for refugees in distress at sea. The transnational network supports migrants in reaching Europe safely by coordinating and communicating with the relevant coastguard authorities and civil search and rescue units. 
One of the Alarmphone’s priorities is monitoring and evaluating the cases in the Mediterranean to create public awareness about the often deadly impacts of the European border regime. The activists take a clear stand for the freedom of movement for all people.
I emphasise the importance and urgency of this project. By a click on the 'Support' button you can find all the informations on their activities as well as to the donation page.
For years I have been dealing myself with the complex matter of migration and flight. Through this set I am trying to express my own reflection on displacement that is part of all of us, kept in our own narrative, history and heritage.

Since the beginning of time, people have honored women and the Sacred Feminine across diverse sites. Although much of this wisdom has been forgotten in the last five thousand years, it is re-emerging and inviting us to restore balance and wholeness within ourselves, in our relationships with one another and with the Earth. The Kybele project builds on this ancient, universal wisdom and calls on us – music makers and listeners alike – to re-imagine, re-member, and re-create a cultural paradigm that affirms and celebrates our balance, wholeness and interdependence. What a beautiful gathering of amazing crews and characters it has been! I am fulfilled with happiness by deepening our connections and I am still feeling sublime and overwhelmed about it.
With this set I would like to express my gratitude to @somethingslow and @afterhour-sounds for their support! Both collectives play an important role in my artistic path as they both believe in me and have supported my arts steadily. 
In February 2017 Something Slow invited me to play my first gig in Berlin at Beate Uwe where I also met Uwe from Afterhour Sounds two months before for his 25th techno anniversary! "DJing is like creating a patchwork of changing beats, rhythms and frequencies of life in order to re-tell them as synthesis", as she said. Next to her solo project, she's also performing as @saphear together with violinist Sawatzki (@sawatzki). From this partnership they're organising and curating a monthly event series called Kolibri Sinfonie  (@kolibrisinfonie) at Klunkerkranich (@klunkerkranich) on the rooftops of Berlin with many great performing artists. Going further, being part of the beautiful inclusive collective KYBELE (@kybelean), highlighting creative works of international female-identified artists in music.

Mixed in the beginning of April at her flat in Neukölln when the first signs of spring set in, this 117th edition got inspiration by her walking through parks, observing the trees and plants and their reactions to her. The set expresses this careful, soft but progressive blooming of being. There is a quote of Hermann Hesse’s Demian, which sums up this process very well: "The bird struggles out of the egg. The egg is the world. Who wants to be born must first destroy a world.“

At the Beate Barfuß party I felt appreciated in a way that I was able to share all the different faces that I am carrying inside myself expressed by the frequencies that I transmitted to you.
I am extremely grateful for this experience of oneness on the day of the four ones, November, 11th when there was no difference anymore between myself, yourself, ourselves and the whole space around us!

In 2007 I discovered electronic music. I started to go to festivals, parties and endless raves. When I moved to Hamburg in 2010, I got to know the Rotzige Beatz whose parties include unforgettable experiences in my raver's life. With their amazingly well-established 'Südpol' they created a space in which one is free to be. A big thanks to them for all their efforts, never giving up on their vision!
I felt so moved when they've invited me as well as from the presence of all my beloved friends who came to dance and support me!
Enjoy this icy, funky, groovy 4-hours trip in penguin land by tripping through genres in states of confusion.

Happy Birthday liebe Chris … schön dass ich so ein wunderbares Set zu deinem Jubeltag veröffentlichen darf … lass dich schön und ausgiebig feiern DU toller Mensch <3

Chris ist auch so eine schöne Freundschaft die uns die Musik beschert hat. Wirklich getroffen haben wir uns bisher auch nur zweimal. Aber jedes Mal könnte man meinen es sind schon Jahrzehnte. Und wie ich so oft feststellen musste liegt es wohl an der Musik weil das unser gemeinsamer unverbrauchter Nenner ist. Schon faszinierend.

Aufmerksam geworden bin ich auf Chrystal Chris … ja durch ihren Namen. Da ich selbst seit langer Zeit Kristalle und Mineralien sammle und damit arbeite … hat das einfach gepasst. Damals hat Chris noch in Hamburg gewohnt. Ist dann aber bald nach Berlin gezogen wo sie nun wie ein Tausendsassa durch die Berliner Elektor-Szene wirbelt. Neben ihrem Solo-Projekt als Chrystal Chris ist sie auch noch mit dem Violinist Sawatzki zusammen das Duo Saphear … was mich regelmäßig vom Hocker haut. Außerdem ist sie noch fester Bestandteil vom Kybelean Kollektiv das weibliche Musiker in den Focus stellt und fördert. Und ebenfalls mit Sawatzki zusammen veranstaltet sie noch die Kolibrisonfonie Partys auf meinem geliebten Klunkerkranich über den Dächern Berlins …. Also Tausendsassa passt wunderbar wie finde.

Im April letzten Jahres haben wir bereits den Podcast hier ausgemacht … Chris meinte ach das wäre ja schön das Set an meinem Geburtstag zu veröffentlichen … ok noch lang hin … aber wie immer die Zeit vergeht … hier es dann doch schon. Und Chris hat sich mega mega mäßig ins Zeug gelegt … 6 Tage jeden Tag an diesem Set gebastelt und die Tracks arrangiert. Was soll ich sagen ich bin überwältigt … so viel Feingefühl, so ausgewogen … hach.

Chris schön dass es DICH und DEINE Musik gibt … mach einfach weiter so 💙 💙 💙

Und meinen lieben und treuen Hörern wünsch ich nun viel Freude mit diesem frühlingshaften und so positiven Mix … genießt die Sonne.

Twisted Crystals | Aduka Festival | June 2019

Many years ago I started to listen to electronic music - I jumped directly into Psytrance - infected by the Trancefloor at Fusion Festival. After that, I visited many GOA gatherings all over the world.
Now, twelve years later I have played at a psytrance festival as DJ for the first time, at the 25th birthday of Antaris Project - how special!
My dear friends built up their fire tent which became the center of the Chill Out Area. There I played Saturday Night from 11pm-0.30am, right before Chris Zippel who kindly invited me! Thank you so much for all your enthusiasm, kind words and positive feedback! So much respect and gratitude to Uwe who is the organiser of Antaris for putting all his passion into this project! It was great meeting you!

My first gig in 2020. 
Here are some new sounds that I mixed up at Bulbul Berlin. It was the afterglow of a full moon night and the energy was high!
Big up to the @we-kuyen family who curate many beautiful events and care for their guests and artists with open hearts.
The motto of the event was ‘Matriarchy' so before I did some research on it and found these quotes in this great article https://bit.ly/308QfnY:

“In matriarchies, mothers are at the centre of culture without ruling over other members of society.”

"The aim is not to have power over others and over nature, but to follow maternal values, ie to nurture the natural, social and cultural life based on mutual respect”.

"So, patriarchy: power over others. Matriarchy: power from within."

Wir haben Chrystal Chris gefragt:

- Was machst du gerade in Zeiten, in denen du nicht auflegen oder veranstalten kannst? -

✘ Mir war wirklich nicht langweilig. Ich bin so busy wie schon lange nicht mehr. Seit zwei Monaten wirke ich bei ‚United We Stream‘ mit. Ich bin zuerst in den Social Media Bereich eingestiegen und habe mich dann in die Awareness Arbeit eingebracht. Wir haben zusammen ein Awareness Manifest entwickelt, welches als Guideline für Clubs und Veranstalter_innen in Bezug auf die Programmgestaltung der UWS Streams dient: https://unitedwestream.berlin/awareness-manifest-united-we-stream/ 

Darüber hinaus habe ich meinen eigenen Birthday Stream zelebriert, war mit Saphear beim Schiffbruch Stream in der Bucht dabei und spiele am 30.05.20 beim Karneval der Kuriositäten im Polygon Club, ein Streaming Event, welches organisiert wird von Geholper und Gestolper.

Weiterhin planen wir eine neue Edition des Freundetreffen Festivals 2021, für welches ich dieses Jahr zum ersten Mal im Booking involviert war.

- Gibt es eine Story zu deinem Podcast? Oder war alles intuitiv? -

✘ Mir war irgendwie direkt klar, dass ich mit Efdemins 'Oh, Lovely Apperance of Death‘ starte, da mich der Track mit seinen Lyrics (Gedicht von Charles Wesley, 1780: Funeral Hymn For A Believer) total berührt. Da ich letztes Jahr einen schweren Verlust erleiden musste und ich seitdem immer wieder mit tiefer Trauer konfrontiert bin, reagiere ich dementsprechend auch auf entsprechende Inhalte und feinfühlige, transzendierende Sounds. 

Mit Jon Hopkin’s ’Singing Bowl’ schließt diese Reise dann perfekt an. Ich mag es, mit Ambient Sounds zu starten und dann das Tempo langsam zu erhöhen und mich aus der Dunkelheit ins Licht zu spielen. Wie zu hören ist, bin ich auch ein Fan von psychedelischen Spähren, die die Zuhörenden in fantasievolle Gedanken-Experimente eintauchen lassen. Mein Motto dabei: Hauptsache, es groovt! Genres können und dürfen sich dabei ruhig vermischen, denn es gibt so viele kleine Details, die Tracks verbinden. 

- Werden wir bald mal einen "Chrystal Chris Track" serviert bekommen? Ist in dieser Richtung was geplant? -

Im März diesen Jahres, kurz vor den ganzen gesellschaftlichen Restriktionen, habe ich meine erste Mini-Liveperformance 'Waves of the Unconsciousness‘ zusammen mit einer bildenden Künstlerin, die dazu Visuals gemacht hat, aufgeführt. Also, ja, ich produziere momentan eigene Tracks, aber sie brauchen alle noch einen gewissen Schliff und ein paar kleine Highlights, sodass sie released werden können. Ich sag jetzt mal erste EP noch 2020, Live Performance dann 2021! 

- Warum ist lila deine Lieblingsfarbe? -

✘ Für mich strahlt lila Leidenschaft, Wärme, Stärke, Schutz und Kraftquelle aus. Lila macht mir so ein wohliges Gefühl und lässt mich zu Hause fühlen.
