Some of the awesome graffiti near where we were staying in Berlin.  The city is renowned for its graffiti art, despite it being a criminal offence, as it's very difficult for the police to prosecute.  Not only do they need to catch the artists in the act but if, in the very rare instance that they do, the police officer then needs to measure the area of public or private property that's been grafittied, determine the cost of rectifying the damage and then produce an offence document with all this information.....

Best of the first half of 2023: Part 1

Hitting the episode #040 of Spacecast with a great mix delivered by Sicilian talent Lavy (IT). 

60 minutes of pure modern techno grooves expertly mixed by the local Italian artist, delivering nothing but good vibes!

“ Gabriele Lavignani, known as (LAVY IT), born in Agrigento in 1995, began his journey in the underground scene at the age of 17, taking his first steps in the sector from a young age, immersing himself day by day in the vast landscape of mixing. 

After solidifying his knowledge in both techno and house contexts, he decides to prefer minimal, hypnotic, and house sounds, which consolidate his unique and engaging style. His sound is constantly evolving, benefiting from the combination of acquired knowledge in the field. 

In 2023, he joins "Fupromu," an event organization from Agrigento, sharing the console with various local artists. He also ventures into production, collaborating with Benny 909 on his first track released on the acclaimed Tonic D label, which has featured tracks from artists such as Stefano Nocerini, Victor Ruiz, Matt Sassari, Alex Stein, Mateo!, and Paco Marioto. 
Subsequently, he also receives attention from the renowned TBX, supported on their official channel. 

In 2024, together with the aforementioned event organization and the "Interstellar" format, he shared the stage with some of the most iconic artists in the underground scene such as Nastia, Paul Ritch, Vinka Wydro, and Tony Hannya. “

Techno District Mix June 2024 By Bermio | Free Download

There's something strange going on here.  My set includes two 'cover versions', or at least that's what they would be called in the world of conventional music.
'Seven Nation Army' by The Yellowheads and HLGRMS ('The White Stripes' wrote and recorded the original version in 2003).
'We Want Your Soul' by Danny Avila (ES) (Adam Freeland wrote and recorded the original in 2003).
On neither track are the original artists credited. I don't think this is right, especially because on 'We Want Your Soul', the sampled audio of the female computer voice is the SAME sample as Adam Freeland used.  

Anyway, the new techno versions of these tracks are both kick-arse.

Revive Podcast [episode 007]

Music has always been an important part of Chrystie Klein’s life, with a particular passion for dance music and the uplifting energy of clubbing. This passion really commenced in earnest when she started attending dance parties in the Melbourne and Sydney queer communities in the early 2000’s.  

In May 2022, Chrystie took the first steps to make a career out of her passion. She started the business venture Resurrection Music (now a company) to organise Techno dance parties in the Melbourne queer community and to promote her own DJ-ing (‘ChrystieK’).  She has now dedicated herself full-time to music, having commenced studies in Music Production in mid-2022. She also continues to build her music business in the areas of event promotion and artist management with an aim to launch the Resurrection Music record label in 2024.
