TURN DOWN DAY

This is a Jimmy Webb tune from the 5th Dimension's second album.  This recording was straight off the PA feed into a cassette deck.  I 'phony-stereo'd' it with a chorus unit.  Other than that, it is totally live.  Listen to the vocals in the chorus.  Sounds like studio double tracking.  It is not.  We simply doubled up on some parts for the same effect.

CALIFORNIA SOUL

In 1978, GAME regrouped in Los Angeles with two new members and for a short time was hands-down the best bar/club band around.  This is an Elton John tune that we took to the limit like everything else we played.  Note the drummer Gilbert Gallegos, especially at the end.  Recorded with 3 mics; two overheads and a kick into a Teac 3340.
