I’ve been sitting on this for a week at first I didn’t want to upload or even type this, not looking for sympathy or anything just want to vent really and maybe bring comfort to anyone dealing with loss.
Losing a family member is one of the worst feelings especially an immediate family member so when it actually happened last week it was so weird. I didn’t feel anything at first, I felt at peace really knowing the last conversation I had with them was full of banter and laughs. Then I went to work as if everything was normal but after an hour a flood of tears started forming in my eyes which felt weird because I haven’t cried in at least 5 years (I actually feel dumb for typing this). I shut myself off from everyone and stayed in my room, music was the only form of therapy for me and that is pretty much how I made this. You think your family will be there forever so you don’t spend as much time with them and that is totally the wrong way to go about life, I’m actually pissed that it took a death for me to have this epiphany.
I chose the sample of “Will you ever know?” because that is what I asked myself when I sat in my room, Even though I didn’t try my hardest to make time for them until it was too late will they ever know that I still cared for them?
It’s ironic, I’m trying to work hard so I can be happy and spend time with my family but in order to do that I need to spend less time with them and be working.
This description is going on way too long lol but yeah, I know you and Grandad are watching from above so I’m going to work twice as hard for my family that is with me today.
