"i feel pretty positively about it. i think it's best viewed/enjoyed as a work of film noir. def very visually striking, loved the gothic, art deco architecture and the perpetually rainy streetscapes. the action sequences were all a good time too. i think it's the best batman film i've seen that actually attempts to engage with "the problem with batman", being that he's this extremely wealthy dude who decides to fight these individual instances of "crime" and "evil" rather than using his resources to combat systemic issues"
