I wrote this in May 2022.  Musically it straddles a thread between Rock and Soul.  I played Piano, Hammond organ, Presence synth (more organ), Mai Tai synth, Taylor acoustic, Mustang PJ Bass and percussion.  All voices I sang. There's Got To Be A Better Way

Thinly veiled ecology song or something else?.  Tinges of psychedelic with Fender Duo Sonic and Telecaster electric over Vox amps.  Retro keyboard flavors ala the late 60's or perhaps early 70's. Fender Bass and percussion derived from real drumming.  Taylor acoustic guitar & multiple vocals.  Written, recorded, singing and playing by CT. The Big Ride

I started writing this in Sept '22.  Inspired by some crazy times. Now those memories seem rather dreamlike.  Recorded using Fender Telecaster with Tremelo and Epiphone Les Paul with a dirty tone.  Keys were Organ (Presence Synth) and Mellotron (Toontrack).  Bass was Fender Mustang with fake SVT amp sim.  All Vocals by CT.  Recording, Production and Mixing at Barkerville.  c2022 Chuck Townsend

Going My Way

I've been writing songs lately that are like short stories. This one encounters the California desert. Written and recorded recently I was pushing for a specific mood with many textures and colors to support that.  I used all Fender guitars on this; Telecaster, Duo Sonic and Stratocaster with Mustang Bass.  Keyboards were various soft synths, including a bass. Also sang all the vocal work.  Percussion.

THOUGHT PROCESS

A new CT song!  Sometimes we want to start over altogether if we could.  Maybe what we need is the 'surprise' of new idea, inspiration we can embrace.  All voices and instrumentation by C.T.  Fender Telecaster and Carvin 12 string Electrics, Fender Mustang Bass, recorded with Studio One and using their soft synth keyboards. Surprise Me !

I came up with the initial idea in 2022 and it was on the back-burner until recently. It's about the power of 'US'...everybody. Believe.  Musically it has some Brian Wilson influences yet there is other artists seeping in.  Sounding like CT in the end.
Used synths, piano that are part of my Studio One recording software.  Fender Mustang Bass with a nod to Carol Kaye. FenderTelecaster was used for all electric parts. Believe In Us -

Louise showed up in a song of mine in 2001 ! It was part of a concept idea that featured a city similar to New Orleans.  Oddly enough in 2016 I was in Savannah Georgia with it's river walks, history and of course ghosts.  At one house there was a 'Louise' that I may have had an encounter with.  Flash forward and that inspired this song. Features piano, mellotron, acoustic and electric guitars, vocals and percussion.  Written, played and produced by CT c2022 & c2023 Chuck Townsend
