Back In the Mirror

I saw my reflection - barely recognized myself
looked into my eyes: stresses of battle show 
On my face knowing where the rest of the cattle go
To an early death some may say timely though
I can’t go out without settling my soul
Balancing the 4 pieces of the whole
So I grow again from the seeds In the hole
I still have those days when gremlins resurface
Raising their ugly head 
The blade comes out to eradicate their purpose
My patience with them run out of thread
Knowing you can’t be passive with those 
That want you up against the ropes with 
Body blows - You gotta be assertive 
No body knows where you may end 
100% Honesty this is no pretend

I know I’m not perfect I’ve been a sinner
There has been things I had to reconsider
Forget the paper the colour I had to figure 
Was I really painting the right picture?

I know the plans for me are much richer
Can’t beat myself up over the rearview 
Putting down vices that can seem bigger
Gotta accept who’s looking back in the mirror 

Upon reflection 
I’d rather be the villain in your truth 
Than the hero in my lie 
Cutting off the sides to stick with the main
You can ask but I don’t have to answer why
When its point blank
Spent time like money that you can’t bank
Monopolising the weight that you can’t plank
Robbing myself of a clean heart to be frank
