Another highlight out of our back catalogue, produced by @Daso and released in 2007. "Thujon" is such a bomb in the club. The real "hit" on this release, however, is "La Fée Verte", a wonderful musical seduction.

Daso, a fellow well known not only for his fantastic releases on MBF and Connaisseur, but also for his furious live-sets, sets out to bring the noise again. After having been inspired by the nerdy world of old-schoolish adventure games for his last release, he uses the dissolute world of absinthe as an afflatus this time. He takes us to a land where alluring little green fairies buzz around and people cut their ears off under absinthe’s massively woozy influence.

Thujon: The impact of well-made Absinthe depends on its concentration of thujon. It can best be described as a kind of heightened clarity of mind and vision. And this is what this track is all about - 100% Thujon!

Louche is the name of the cloudy effect you achieve by adding water to spirits, which contain anise, like absinthe does. This track starts with a low-key groove, which forces up to a mental dance affaire, including a genuine rocking Daso-esque break. 

La Fée Verte: Imagine a lazy summer afternoon. You’re sitting outside a small café at the Cote d’Azur. After drinking your fourth Absinthe you might actually see a little green fairy, sitting on your shoulder, singing this sweet melody in your ear.

Unleash launch their label with a 3-tracker from Cesar Merveille, a Paris-born composer who needs no introduction. Cesar’s wealthy back catalogue includes releases on labels Cadenza and Visionquest, and of course the unforgettable records on his ‘Roche Madame‘ project under his C.S.R. alias, which he has used again for the debut release on Unleash Records. 

As always, Cesar has perfectly blended the sounds of microhouse and minimal, using scatty hat patterns, subby basslines and vast textures to paint a picture in each track, and we have the pleasure of premiering the first track of the EP, ‘Back’.

Since their launch in 2013, Frankfurt based Traffic Records have cemented their reputation as a vinyl-only powerhouse. The label is known for consistently pushing the boundaries of the minimal soundscape with a refreshing lack of predictability, embracing influences as far-reaching as electro, UK garage and bleep. Each Traffic release captures a distinctly unique energy and intoxicating strangeness that brings the leftfield to the dancefloor’s front-left. 
 
This essence of the Traffic sound is encapsulated by its latest four-tracker: Traffic013, Etienne’s ‘Combat EP’. The strikingly diverse 12” stomper comes from French-born Berlin-Based DJ and producer, Etienne Ottd, whose spaced-out sound takes listeners into uncharted territory of techno, electro and tech-house. His calculated ‘quality-over-quantity’ approach has allowed him to curate an enviable discography of accessible strangeness. With a biography like this, it goes without saying that today’s premiere has us very excited. 
 
Heating things up on the A1 is ‘Rez’: a pared-back, bass-heavy groover with a grabbing kick.  A wobbly cosmic-sounding stab cuts through the deranged melody, keeping our interest peaked and our feet firmly on the dancefloor. The A2 is home to ‘Disto’, an aptly titled dystopian journey into a world of distortion. There’s markedly more going on in this track than the A1, but a distinct rawness ensures it never feels busy or overwhelming. The spaced out bleeps that enter midway through provide an intoxicating contrast to the track’s slamming hook. 
 
Flip it over and the B side begins with ‘Le Spnk’: a hard-hitting 4/4 stomper that reeks of a sweat-soaked peak-time basement. A shuffling techno hat pattern and growling synth keep the vibes well and truly on the dark side. An avid soundcloud commenter described the track as a “floor destroyer”– we couldn’t agree more.  Closing off the EP on the B2 is the atmospheric and ethereal ‘A New Dawn’ where synth lines dance among a muffled kick. It is the type of track that restores a wave of energy to the dancefloor– the ideal addition to a spacy sunrise set. 

On the whole the EP’s experimentation with an eclectic soundscape has paid off in spades. It’s near impossible to pick a track of the record - a testament to Etienne’s sorcery. To ensure you get your hands on the wax, pre-order a copy from your distributor of choice now.

Premiere: B2 - Etienne - A New Dawn [TRAFFIC013]

Keeping the White Isle’s underground scene stocked and supported with all everything vinyl related, Ibiza’s record store ‘More Than Music’ is now set to launch their own self styled vinyl imprint. They’re first 12" will be christened by none other than in form Romanian producer Dragos Dumitru aka Cally, who’s smooth and rhythmically energised blend of minimal house & techno has been seen him release on London’s 'Fear of Flying’ and Hanover label ‘Malonian’, alongside sharply executed remixes for the likes of Romanian label Cersennin & Welsh imprint Curtea Veche. Its always exciting to hear new material from Cally and this new venture for MTM hits all the right spots, coming from an artist who’s finding his niche within flourishing Ro-minimal soundscape.

Immediate A side opener and title track 'Yes no, Maybe so' is a moody floor shaker, it's tensile pads and moody over tones float above a bumping, signature Cally bass line. Straight up and to the point, this is a groove thats geared for peak time usage, its snappy percussive flow will definitely keep spirits heightened on the dance floor. 

A turn to the B side and we find Copenhagen’s own Martinez flipping B2’s ‘Decisions’ into a swingy, hi hat fuelled minimal house groove. Here he turns the rather introspective melodics of the original on its head, utilising a solid undercarriage of static 4/4 beats over which bleepy electronics and pads circulate in heady formation. Finally we come to B2’s ‘Decisions’.. a beautifully refined minimalist techno cut thats all about contrast. The low end characterised by a meaty, acid edged bass line motif that drives forward in uncompromising fashion. Whilst the upper end plays host to subtle melodic tones and pads that whisper in echoed voices. A transportive cut that lulls the heart and mind into a blissful state of consciousness.

Once again Cally wows and his emotive and intuitively crafted productions are generating more excitement by the minute. MTM know good music and this exciting collaboration certainly won’t be the last for the label, as they shift more of their focus into the vinyl release format. Stay tuned.

The track we are premiering today can be easily considered as THE track from [a:rpia:r] set at Sunwaves, as early morning of Saturday Tent Three literally exploded when Pedro dropped it.

With early support from Raresh, Ricardo Villalobos, FUSE boys and more, the record is on pre-sale now and should land the shelves of the best record shops very very soon.

Noha & Alex Tea’s musical relationship is one that’s yielded great results to date, chiefly as result of their work together on the Panick EP, the inaugural release on Noha and Alex’s increasingly essential Panick Panick! label. Here, they team up with distinction once more for the label’s fourth release, the only difference being that this time they do so under their Patagonia moniker. If this one is a sign of things to come, it’s an alias that looks set to bare serious fruit over the next while.

A two tracker full of heady, intoxicating vibes, we get underway courtesy of the rushed, dubs flavours of ‘Rimane Senza’. A multilayered cut that boasts a relentless edge, it stops only for breath when its sporadic vocal flourish enters the equation. Dark and banging but with featuring just enough light at the end of the tunnel, it’s an all-round engrossing cut with a stuffy demeanour that’s hard not to appreciate.

The A side sees the duo revert to more percussion-led planes, courtesy of ‘Chi Ci Pensa’. The sort of weapon that’s sure to go down a treat with latin-inclined DJs such as Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano, this one’s already got an airing at Sunwaves courtesy of [a:rpia:r], who unleashed it to great acclaim at the renowned Romanian festival. Full of swing and smile-induced vibes, this one may well prove to be one of the biggest tracks of the summer. Expect this one to play out across European dancefloor’s over the coming months.

Premiere: A1 - PATAGONIA (Noha & Alex Tea) - Chi Ci Pensa [PP04]

It’s been well over a year since paris based label La Clap released previews for their third 12” featuring Romanian star Andrei Suciu, and they’ve created quite a stir in the meantime. 

The imprint is responsible for pushing their own unique curation  of micro house sounds, a deep blend of transformative ambience and sharply tuned rhythms. 

The duo behind the imprint Jean Cédric alisonn & Marcelo Cura are also involved in throwing an event series thats been going strong for over five years, gracing venues in Paris and Montpellier in their native France, and abroad in underground hot spots like Prague and Bucharest. 

Finally though the physical release is on the way, but not before we get to enjoy the fruits of Suciu’s production talents via a full stream premiere of title tune ‘Altundeva’.

The A side cut ‘Altundeva’ is a mind trip full of bleep speckled atmospherics and heavily delayed vocal lines. All the while a steady, sub fuelled bass line sets a bouncy undercarriage over which distorted electronics fizzle. A generously applied amount of echo creates a huge amount of spaciousness throughout the track, rounding out a darkly skewed minimalist cut that will make a mark on any intuitive listener.

Bruno Pronsato’s interpretation immediately afterwards, adds an extra rhythmic flourish to the original. With a purposed energy he turns the dial on ‘Altundeva’, blending a myriad of percussive elements likes shaker’s and conga’s into an incredibly groovy shuffle. Warped tonal notes skip up and down the keyboard, as the upper frequencies are awash with fluttering pad work. A trippy and almost pensive alternative that submerges the senses with its rich textures.

Finally the Ep is rounded out with another original by Suciu. A slow burning, low end bombshell entitled ‘210’ that's complex and brooding. Deep atmospherics haunt the audio spectrum, a murky combination of delayed pads and rippling sub bass hues. The constant click of hat & snare keep a steady rhythmic timing that underpins a tightly crafted cut. Suciu wows once again with his innate musical gifts.

Premiere: A1 - Suciu - Altundeva [LACLAP003]

The seventh installment on Luca Cazal and Brigante’s label ‘See Double’ is a formidable 3 track EP entitled ‘Explore’, produced by Manchester born artist Josh Baker. The EP is quite versatile, and contains 2 original productions from Baker himself as well as one remix. On side A, "Explore (Ft. JAXN)" have powerful bass-lines with acid grooves and that makes it perfect to unleash some energy. "Black Lines" instead mantains the same strong bass-lines but has some dark elements

This is the second appareance on See Double for Josh, and overall is a very well crafted EP. He recently stated: “​After receiving some exceptional vocals from JAXN, ‘Explore’ wrote itself. I wanted to create a real peak-time song, one suited for all spaces and I’m happy to see it get consistently road-tested at DC10. ‘Black Lines’ is a moodier acid track that I feel compliments ‘Explore’ massively". Early support came directly from Barac, while Apollonia, Ben Rau and Richy Ahmed regularly playing tracks of the young Manchester producer.

B1 is a remix of title-track "Explore", which we are here premiering, and it is made by none other than one of FUSE London top boys’ Rich NxT. His remix has more of a housey vibe to it and would go down a treat at one of FUSE's famous morning after at Sonus Festival or open air rave at Studio 338. Rich here took out some of the intensity from Josh Baker’s original mix and made it deeper and funkier, with more promintent vocals along with the hi-hats, giving the track plenty of energy, sounding especially good with the sun high in the sky.

Premiere: B1 - Josh Baker - Explore Ft JAXN (Rich NxT Remix)- [SD007]

The fifth release of VBX, "I Change, Just Like You" will soon arrive directly from Ferro, one of the main exponent of the Amsterdam-based collective.

The Dutch producer is recently on fire: apart from delivering "Limbic Resonance" VBX004 circa 8 month ago, produced together with Reiss as Spokenn, there were severals and insisting rumors around him to be the Unknown Artist behind a heavily-endorsed tune played this year.

Overall, his stamp on VBX record label is significant: the first two-ever issues, which played a major role in kick-starting the imprint ("Time Will Tell" and "Meeting In Another World") are from Jasper himself, confirming his creativity in studio and setting the last couple of year as the most prolific to date.

His growth as a DJ and producer goes at the same fast-peace VBX is going, with both breaking milestones one after the other in short period of times. His duo-project with his friend Reiss, which we featured not long time ago, is booming, with both set to appear in Ibiza for Carl Cox project One Night Stand at Amnesia and DC-10, respectively on 02 July 2018 and 10 August 2018.

VBX005 is a two-tracker EP. The name Endresonic - the A side of this two tracker - subtly references the Norwegian vocalist, who's haunting voice lends the percussion heavy and uplifting track a visceral quality. It's the type of track that you will be humming the day after you heard it being played out by your favourite DJ, wondering what it could be.

Dark Revelations on the flip feels almost like the Mr Hyde to Endresonic's Dr Jekyll. Countless heady modulating soundscapes, gurgling bleeps and blobs, subtle percussive elements and an eerie voice - with Ferro's signature groove as the backbone holding it all together - ensure a trippy, almost cerebral, listening experience. 'I Change, Just Like You' provides the listener with an aural glimpse into the multidimensional universe of sounds that Ferro calls home.

Archie Hamilton's Moss Co. label continues into 2018 with a three-tracker equipped with two original productions, complimented further via a remix from FUSE's very own Rossko.

Trommel has the premiere of Rossko's remix of Stephan Bazbaz and Asael  Weiss’s 'Only'. The FUSE resident has made a name for himself over the last decade as an unstoppable DJ and crate digger, also working alongside Archie Hamilton in the studio on two Arkityp release in recent years. For his debut remix, Rossko puts together an extremely accomplished reinterpretation, maintaining the original’s flavour but adding a renewed focus on low-end theory and percussive weight. With so much inspiration just waiting to come out in the studio, this is a promising sign of things to come for Rossko as an artist in his own right.

Premiere: A2 - Stephan Bazbaz & Asael Weiss - Only (Rossko Remix) [MOSSV009]

Moscow boss Archie Hamilton joins forces here with Italian-born and Berlin based Noha for a three-track EP, now the label’s 23rd issue.

This new partnership is an intriguing one. Archie is a real force of nature, an internationally-renowned DJ and producer, on a seemingly unstoppable rise, boosted via solid releases on several labels, including regular appearances on FUSE London and his own imprints: the aforementioned Moscow Records as well as his other imprint Moss Co. and Arkytip (ran alongside close affiliate, Rossko).

Noha is a 360 degree artist, with skills that range from painting to music. After a period spent in NYC, he is 100% back in music production, locking himself up in his Berlin studio and delivering, together with Alex Tea, one of the tunes of the summer, "Chi Ci Pensa”, premiered on our channel a few days back.

Taken from their brand new "NoHamilton” EP, due out on 13 July, we are premiering track A2, "Bored of Life”. Perfectly summarising what is said above, it shows a nice synergy between the two producers. The first part of the track is introduced by tambourines, which make way for a soft and smooth groove and echoing, stripped back elements. All together, this piece creates a seductive rhythm that we are sure will find a place in DJ sets for a while to come.

Sepp is one of the many next-generation Romanian’s paving their way into the record collections of selectors across Europe. Since releasing his debut album on Uvar, the label he runs with Nu Zau, Sepp has grown both as a DJ and a producer and has become an emerging name within the scene.

The talented Romanian now debuts on Frankfurt label RAWAX with a two-track EP titled ‘Ritm Timpan’. A-side ‘Nilut’ is one of the most anticipated tracks of the summer. Ever since it got its first play at Sunwaves 23 in April by Raresh (during RPR’s B2B) and Petre Inspirescu (Stage 4, solo) minimal fans have been waiting for this one to drop.

Nilut is a prime example of how the minimal sound is evolving. Tightly arranged drum patterns dominate the first five minutes with tantalising synths teased throughout. A minute later, the drums and the synths come together as the track explodes to another level of euphoria. The long buildup is well worth the wait as the dreamy soundscapes feel like they are drifting from side-to-side.

B-side Tevoim follows the same trip. This one has that peak time dance floor feel to it, with the drums leading the way.

Sour Edits, is a label that without doubt has brought so much foot tapping, head nodding happiness into this world. Every floor driven release has managed to crack a wry smile in everyone over at Four Heads HQ when we routinely unearth these releases; even the accounting department on the most solemn of Mondays when the lacklustre Q4 numbers are rolling in.

The issue is, is that circa 70% (predictions based on real-time data collected by our GDPR compliant operatives) of you will be listening to this, perhaps alone, perhaps with headphones on. If this is you, yes you, this is not the optimum enjoyment level for this tune.
