Someone said me Saturday how long does it take to get over the trauma of losing someone suddenly? 

For me if  differs when I lost mum at 21 to a brain tumour, it took me about 10 years before I felt like I’d  dealt with the trauma. Then losing Roy and Louise within 12 Months of each other around the whole Covid era really threw a spanner in the works. 

Poetic that the last time I played at Chic was for Louise’s fundraiser . Emotional night that I wasn’t really prepared for but we needed to raise the funds to get our girl home so had to be done. I had to stop playing all the old chic stuff as literally every tune would set me off 😭. I played the same set at her wake a couple of months later and recreated it the week after and it’s sat on my hard drive ever since. 

Well think it’s about time I started playing all the chic anthems again so here’s a new mix series “Back 2 Chic” and the first volume will be that mix from awe fundraiser and wake. Just done volume 2 and it might have some of the same tracks on as volume 1 I haven’t listened back to the original mix but bloody hell I’d forgot how much these old viny rips drift and differ in volume compared to modern tracks. The mixing is far from perfect on this volume 2 mix as I was a little drunk but I managed to get through an hour and a half and the tunes only set me off once🥲 so definitely getting easier to hear them again. Miss you every day Lou 💜
