From about 5 years ago, just me mucking about with a Roland 303 with reverb turned all the way up plugged into an Arturia Keylab Essential 49 Controller...a lazy Sunday afternoon live session. The crunching sound is created by me hitting the same note over and over and as it's a manual process and I'm not hitting it perfectly in time it creates this sound like marching feet...I'm not saying this piece is anything special, mostly because so little effort went into creating it but somehow I find it calming when I come back and listen to it all this time later...#EverybodyNeedsA303...now I think back it was because one of my best mates had sent me a Youtube link to Nine Inch Nails tune Background World which led me on a Youtube musical journey which introduced me to Brian Eno's New Space Music (I listen to that piece A LOT to this day), Gavin Bryars Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me  Yet and William Basinski's The Disintegration Loops....so I just sat down and had a play....I really should set aside some time to play around with sound again. 
Just rest assured I'm a better DJ than I am a musician :D

Playing with Reverb

old wav file I found...think this was created using one of the sound boxes on Native Instrument's Massive. Pretty sure I was wasted and in bed and just made it using my mouse and nothing else...Nothing special, just imagine it being played over some old Jacques Cousteau footage

Experiment with Ambience

This is a piece by an old fuck who we love to bits who doesnt care about  a career in music he just lives for music. We wont tell you his name or much about him. He says he craves anonymity so he can create his art and we will honour his wishes. All he will tell us he is he goes by the name of Disruptur A. He claims to be part of a collective group of artists who call themselves The Disruptur...

This is just a taster of what they aim to be producing.

Well listening now I guess you would say Horror film soundtrack meets sci-fi.....this was just me sitting down at the keyboard with 2 minutes, 2 notes, composing and recording in real time and tweaking the sound envelopes....no Ableton, no post editing, no practice...ambient not techno....just had to get a piece of art out there...
Equipment used....Roland DS88......Native Instruments Massive one of sound made on that.....8 Tweaks..and recorded through the microphone of cheap Samsung J36"

First composition

I'd been using Traktor for less than 2 hours prior to this and never made any attempt to learn to scratch using vinyl.

Only equipment involved was Traktor S4 Mk1 and it's Gater effect on a separate channel with white noise to create the scratch effect and Jeff Mills The Bells and VLC to convert the audio recording from Traktor into a format that can be uploaded to Soundcloud.....

{Update Nov 2024} This probably wont sound good through a sound system but sounds fine on headphones on a phone....there was an issue  with the sound system I used when creating the mix that it was missing most of the midrange. One day I will redo this }

Bicep Vs Techno

This is a set based around my personal 35 years of clubbing that I put together for my Saturday night set at Wilkestock Festival 2018 in the UK. Tunes that have been important to me over that time period and made me want to dance dating back as far as 1981 and covering genres such as Acid House, Techno, Breaks, Garage Electro Pop and Old Skool.

I'd like to thank the producers and record labels that made these tunes being such a big part of my life....Respect to them and all the raving crews out there across all the genres
