Best know for his mastery of melodic and progressive house, Canadian DJ Simon Doty had a stellar 2023, marked by the release of his debut album, ‘Universal Language’. he album secured the #1 spot on the iTunes Dance chart and received radio support on SiirusXM and BBC Radio 1, from presenters Pete Tong and Danny Howard. Esteemed DJs including Gorgon City, Diplo, Solardo, and many others have also shown their support for the album.

My Friend, aka James Levey and Archie Ward, are a British duo who’ve previously released on labels including Toolroom, Armada Electronic Elements and W&O Street. . In 2023, My Friend made waves with a series of successful releases on Anjunadeep, including the dynamic EP 'Holding Out’ and mesmerizing collaboration with Dosem titled 'Blue Marble / Door To Door’. Their latest offering, the ‘The Calm EP’, received acclaim from industry heavyweights Einmusik, Joris Voorn, and Gabriel & Dresden.

I wrote this song thinking it was my own, kept in the vaults of my "to be finished", not having listened to the original track for possibly decades. A scary and harrowing moment of having a 90s youtube music deepdive discovering my subconscious mind had word-for-word, note-for-note almost plagiarized the original song. So after some initial dissappointment in myself for thinking I had written something new, I decided to release as a cover. A band that was in the background of my 90s upbringing and the mood must have entered my mind on a core level. Much love and appreciation and a lyrical reimaging of resolve. No the painful I'm waiting for you. But that the love has finally been found, the closeness has been attaining. The longing of the original siren-song an appreciation for having found love. Told from a red + blue = purple non binary unity consciousness colour scheme. Everything is ok, as long as I have you.
