'Do The Do' is straight up organ house, with an unforgettable melody, vocal cut and sharp percussion. Next up, Weiss delivers the funk with 'My Sister'; one of those tracks you'll have on repeat for weeks on end, the groove is unrivalled on this one! Finally, 'Silk Slut' concludes the EP on a slightly darker note with heavy drums, pitched down vocals and a rumbling bass; perfect for after parties.

The first in what is sure to be an accomplished set of EPs, transport yourself to 'Weiss City' for an exploration of the deeper side of house music.

Quickly following up the last, instant sell-out smash, Shir Khan's infamous "Black Jukebox" series hit us with the 12th edition. Introducing anonymous project Aussteiger who gets things bouncing with the Summer house monster, "Bangbao". Lush filter sweeps, twinkling keys and powerful bass are order of the day here as the producer works his magic on one of the sunniest grooves we've heard this year. "Return" keeps that outdoor terrace flavour but plunges us deep into the twilight, tribal drums and deep electronics locking us into its hypnotic recess. Martin Lewis contributes a seriously fun and summery version of "Now That We Found Love", utilizing glorious xylophones and horns throughout the melody and letting it roll out with aplomb. Finally, we get the cheeky "Do It" edit which combines hypnotic congas with funky guitar licks and a sun-burnt, Latin energy to create a sizzling brew of hot dancefloor energy. Great stuff! The return of time travelling disco afficionados Space Echo is immanent, and their 3rd contribution to the Luv Shack catalogue is a very special one indeed. The three tracks on the 'Rare Function EP' are boasting with dusty 70s blues magic!

The first track 'Go Down' is somewhat more akin to earlier Space Echo tracks, with a disco loop that steadily builds in the background, funky house drumming and a big beefy bassline. However the gospel vocals and the evolving synth strings in the second break take ' Go Down' to another level of dancefloor goodness.

'Rare Function' sees Space Echo take a moody excursion into southern funk. With an insanely addictive rhodes hook, shimmering strings and a soothing vocal line that hits right in the guts, this piece is well suited to liven up any house set. 

The final track is called 'Rainbow Power' and its probably the most uncanny Space Echo track to date. Its a full on party rendition of a lesser known early 70s funk piece that just blasts off after being introduced to a fat acid line! 

The EP is a testament to the musical development of the Space Echo project and we're excited to hear what the future holds.

Across the street from where Trouw used to be, lies a nice little hotel. It was in the basement of this hotel, where a curious meeting happened. Something so coincidental and so unassumingly trivial, that even the slightest event of randomness could have prevented this from ever happening, yet it did happen and here we are. 
This curious meeting was the result of an open studio door of Nachtbraker, and the hint of disco coming out the door, where Dr. San Proper just happened to pass by in search of whatever it is he searches for at 10 am on a Tuesday. The good doctor decided to walk in, greeted Nachtbraker in his ordinary weird way and casually grabbed a microphone. Nachtbraker pressed record, Dr. Proper got his inner Mick Jagger on, and behold: Misses, madame, mademoiselle was born: an up-tempo disco groove with Nachtbraker’s touch of loose arrangement, and San Proper’s amazing vocals. We asked our good friends and great producer duo Session Victim to re-interpret M.m.m. and they gave it a great dreamy-but-groovy twist, adding pads and shufﬂing hi-hats. 
We had already heard Nachtbraker working on a deep house – meets – afro track a while back and he made 2 versions of this track to complement the EP. Hamdi is probably one of the most euphoric tracks in his discography to date, and it’s one you’re likely to hear a lot in the coming time. With the use of chopped vocals (we’ll let you ﬁgure out the source material) and a teasing build up, the track breaks down into a lovely chant, adding energy with every bar without ever coming close to being tacky or overproduced. The alternate version is an excursion into 808 booty territory, using different chops, alienating loops and yes, even a siren.

Playground Records starts 2021 without missing a beat. The ever-expanding Radial Gaze duo from Russia makes their debut on the label, loaded with frenetic rhythms, acid tribality and strident synthesis.
The first installment is the track 'Oracular Punch'. A rhythm of stabbing percussion that chases the response of some deity. As if following a rite with rising voices and dramatic modulations they ask the Pythoness to give an answer to the questions that are sought.

'Truly Wasted' is the second track and it doesn't lose momentum. Relentless with a great bouncing kick, sinister bass and acid melodies, sensual modulations go in an increase until exploding in a dense sonic layering. The melodies in Asian scales are getting sharp and tense
until they go down again in a scattering of keyboard cushions. Without a doubt a different track which can be heard everywhere with a crazy combination of elements.
'Outward Tange' closes the delivery of originals with a flying but highly danceable track. A charming big bassline crosses a volatile arpeggio. A haunting joyful melody accompanies a stampede of tribal shouts that seems to unleash a horseback run down the hill. Like the
musicalization of traveling through a landscape where the herd returns to the village after a happy victory. An ending of sweet melodies gives a hopeful tone and closes a conceptual aesthetic sound of the Ep.
The first remix comes from the hand of the Tel Aviv artist, Kino Todo who converts 'Oracular Punch' into a march of deep hypnotic roam. Making a constant repetition syncopated in eighth notes, sound layers are added generating altered states, leading us to an ecstatic dance. One of those tracks that looks for feets, chases you, entangles you and once it takes you it does not leave you until you are an exhausted prey surrendered to its captivating enchants.
Aristidez is in charge of remixing 'Truly Wasted'. With an infectious and slippery groove, a güiro in triplets takes us on a journey between minimalist and festive cadence, a small town guaracha celebration. The percussive trance takes you and does not leave you, the melodies lift you up and the devils come out to dance around the fire until dawn.
