When I wrote “If I Was No More” I was in a really dark place, and it was a painful one to write. It’s not easy to talk about that headspace where everything got so heavy that part of me craved to no longer be there to bear it. It’s a scary thought, one that comes with a lot of guilt and shame. Out of all the songs on the album this one is the one that feels the hardest to share, even now, from the other side. But it’s also one of the best songs I have ever written and it’s an important one to share. With this one music does what it does best - express those things that words alone can’t carry.

RTE Radio1 Folk Award nominee (Best Emerging Artist category 2022), Ciara O’Neill releases new track ‘Woman’ the first single taken from her upcoming EP of the same name following the release of the celebrated ‘La Lune’ and ‘Le Soleil’ singles.
Ciara says: “Woman is an exploration of the beauty and complexities of being a Woman in modern society. Looking at myself, my own female relatives and those Women in history who have lived lives in the shadows, it’s about having a desire for more, not feeling the need to conform to expectations placed on us, and allowing ourselves to be visible and speak our truths.”

From its popping bass intro, Patriot Parade builds until you think it can’t build any more - then goes even harder. It’s an anti-racist protest song, satirising populist demagogues and their followers. Recorded in London UK, the sound mashes punk, grunge and Britpop; think QOTSA meets Blur. The single is part of a debut album launch, backed by live shows, PR agency support, and a digital marketing campaign.

The Right Path

Ronin is the 5th Single release by Re:O. This high energy, blood pumping and aggressive metal anthem combines Metal with dark pop, J pop influences and dissonance that would get any fan of  Metal, Metalcore, Nu Metal, Post-hardcore and Rock moving and headbanging. This song would suit any playlist within the genres mentioned.  

Ronin’ lyrics describe being betrayed by those closest to you and forging your new path with revitalized meaning and proving those who betrayed your trust wrong. Ronin explores the crippling self doubt and self immolation that afflicts us after being betrayed by those we trust and look up to. It then explores the exhilarating emotions of self discovery, finding a sense of belonging and confidence. This story is captivated using the imagery of a masterless samurai - The Ronin. This emotional journey is captivated utilizing a mixture of Japanese and English spoken lyrics, aggressive catchy guitar riffs with eccentric beautiful synth, vocal melodies and dissonance to create a Metal anthem that perfectly emulates the feeling of being lost within yourself and then the journey of self discovery and awakening that will leave you wanting more.

Tell Me I Wanna Know

RTE Radio1 folk award nominee Ciara O’Neill has been on quite the musical journey over the last
eight years. Originally from Co Armagh and now based in Belfast her debut album ‘The Ebony
Trail,’ (2016) set the foundations of a career notching up praise from BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson, Hot Press magazine and more along the way.
But it wasn’t just the press that sat up and took notice of her haunting folk songs; music lovers
and industry folk from across the Atlantic saw something special in both Ciara’s songwriting and
her ability to silence a room with her voice. Receiving publishing interest after a chance meeting at
the Belfast Nashville Songwriting Festival she found herself flying back and forth to the USA
working with some of the finest songwriters Music City had to offer. It was there she sowed the seeds of what was to become her second album ‘Arrow’ (2018).
Just as Ciara was starting to think about her third album, the world locked down due to the
pandemic and finding comfort once again in her guitar she began creating an EP ‘La Lune’ (2022).
Supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Ciara’s most recent single ‘La Lune’ topped the airplay charts of BBC Radio Ulster and RTE Radio1, it was also this song which led to
Ciara being nominated for best emerging artist at the 2022 RTE Radio1 Folk awards.
In addition to writing solo, Ciara is also a keen collaborator and has worked with many world class
songwriters and artists over the years including Grammy winner Don Henry, Grammy
nominated Drew Ramsey and Gary Burr as well as Northern Irelands finest Ryan McMullan, Gareth Dunlop and Ciaran Lavery.
On the live front Ciara has lots of highlights too, most notably playing in front of a US TV audience
of 60 million for Music City Roots, showcasing at Folk Alliance in Kansas City, representing
Northern Ireland in Brussels for culture night and representing Belfast as a UNESCO city of music
in London, Ontario in July 2023 where she played the main stage at Home County Music and Arts
Festival. Her numerous performances at the iconic Nashville venue the Bluebird Cafe and her
recent sold out headline shows for the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival and Sound of Belfast also rank high among her ever growing list of achievements.
With a focus on her beautiful vocals and raw, poetic songwriting Ciara’s music is sure to appeal to
music lovers across the board including fans of other Irish artists Saint Sister and Lisa Hannigan.
Her new EP ‘Woman’ will be out in 2024.
