Solo piano version of my piece "Imshruth" to celebrate Piano Day 2021. 

This piece attempts to mimic the different currents and movements of water in the sea, sometimes confused and sometimes smoothly flowing.

"Athrú" paints a picture of restless and changing seas, as well as the energising and exhilarating side to being in the ocean.

A few unfortunate slip-ups on my part, but pulled back together pretty well by my amazing bandmates. I don't see an opportunity to re-record it anytime soon, so here it is!

Following "Manannán", "Éalú" signifies the calm, hope and togetherness felt after a raging storm.

Named after Manannán Mac Lir, a sea god from the Tuatha Dé Danann, "Manannán" describes a storm at sea, from its distant approach to its arrival, climax and departure.

Manannán

A piece from "Fuaim na Farraige", my final year project of my BMus in UCC (May 2018)

"Machnamh" attempts to recreate in the listener the state of deep thought and contemplation that the ocean can bring about. The foggy, unclear sound signifies the mist that is associated with Manannán Mac Lir, and creates the atmosphere of the storm that he is brewing.

Maċnaṁ

Cuimhne is the first in a series of solo improvisations paired with images that I plan on sharing over the next while.

This one is about nostalgia, pale early morning light, and those good moments that you didn't think about at the time.
