The cast of “Stray Observations” finds itself in a new, somehow even darker timeline.  Originally assembled during the early COVID pandemic, this new collection of tunes from the Ridgewood crew have expanded through refined ideas, tighter production techniques and acute empathy for an unprecedented world.  When everything feels so hopeless, where does art exist?  Is there a space for electronic music?  For raving?  The artists of “Stray Observations Volume 3” don’t necessarily answer these age-old queries directly but lend different moods, environments and places to ponder these thoughts.  From bouncing three-movement tech house to Aphex Twin downtempo worship, this compilation offers the spectrum of emotions and thoughts splintering out from the contemporary mind.

‘Unspeakable In The AM’ is a swirling, euphoric homage to the diverse sounds of late 90s electronica, intertwined with Australia's modern dance sound. With it’s dub-infused trip-hop groove fitting perfectly among shoegaze-esque guitar riffs. EZINES have proven their ability to create an impressive journey fitting for headphones, a sunny afternoon or in the early hours of the morning. 

“We wrote this track originally as something to listen to on the way home from a night out, and continued to develop it with sprinkles of analog synths from our studio. It brings together our affection for shoegaze, trip hop, and everything in between," the duo said.

Headcleaner EP is out Monday, October 21.
