After a trip that changed my life through Papa New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand, I returned in 2016 to Chile with the intention of finishing the songs that would relate my adventures and motivate more people to travel, connect and take care of our planet. This is how Cigarbox Man was born, the first “Sustainable Rock” band in Latin America. The musical objective of the project is just as important as sustainability goal in all its activities and messages to spread. One of the main instruments used by me is called Cigarbox Guitar, which I make using 90% recycled materials and 3D printing techniques. This guitar is the main responsible for the unique sound achieved in my compositions. The band is formed by me as the leader, and by a dream team of Chilean musicians who dared to change the rules of the game in the music industry; the bassist of "Los Bunkers" Gonzalo López, the guitarist of "Álvaro Henriquez" Paolo Murillo, the keyboardist of "Los Santos Dumont" Nicolas Ferrada and the drummer of "Pedropiedra" Eduardo Quiroz.
With only 2 years of activity, Cigarbox Man has already been present in several international festivals such as Cosquín Rock, Fender Day, Lollapalooza, Adidas Rock and Roll Half Marathon, Festival Laguna Mental Costa Rica, Oktober Costa Rica, among others.
Cigarbox Man has an album released in English called "Solomon" and I recently released my first single in Spanish called "Mal Menor", featuring Álvaro López (Los Bunkers). “Me Incendie” is my newest and most innovative work that I have released. With unique psychedelic and bluesy sounds, it comes to offer 2 connected songs that tell us what the planet would say if it could speak directly to each of its inhabitants. These two tracks, like their video clip, are the first in the industry to have a “carbon neutral footprint”, this means that the pollution produced in the recordings and filming was measured, and the total amount was donated to different local nonprofits organizations that make efforts to protect the environment. In parallel, I'm working on my other project “Cigarbox School”, which focuses on promoting sustainable education in public schools through 40-minute workshops, where guitars are made only with recycled materials by the children. It is a non-profit project that aims to contribute to the environmental awareness of future generations.
