We begin 2023 as we intend to go on - highlighting underrated talent that stand ready to make a big impact! From slick minimal pieces to full bodied sub-shaking weapons, it's been fascinating to witness the growth of 7Kidz's sound over recent years. The Belgian producer kicks off his year with a release on the equally impressive and underrated Too Much Collective. Following a heavyweight project from Jamzigg in November and a track from n/less, the label continues to give a platform to those looking to rise the ranks of the genre and 7Kidz grabs the bull by the horns with this one by producing a killer no skips EP. However out of the four tracks on TMC012, 'Dirty Job' particularly hits the spot for me, which is why I have the pleasure of presenting it in full today!

7Kidz - Dirty Job (TMC012) [HNYBSS Premiere]

What better way to kick off the label's 10th year as an imprint than have the two troublemakers behind it all, Tik&Borrow, release their first EP in 18 months on the label.

This one sees the duo harnessing a techy sound palette in their production, from the interwoven drums of lead track 'Sable' to the subtle key progressions in the outro of title track 'Revolution', the pair have clearly been enjoying the process of bringing other musical elements into these tracks without sacrificing what makes them, well them. This is on show the most with the third original track 'Avril', which sees the duo step far outside of their usual sound, utilising sparse soundscapes and techno rhythms alongside 808 thumps and breakbeats, to create something truly unique but in keeping with the vibe throughout the EP.

On remix duty they are delighted to welcome our brothers Saraphim to the label to give their twist on lead track 'Sable', and boy, are you in for a treat. They take the original and add a bit of spice as only they can, turning it into a wubby roller that is the perfect closer for our first EP of the year.
