A long-cherished treasure of Amsterdam’s underground nightlife, Cinema Royale has been steadily and irrevocably making his way on to a much deserved bigger stage. After years of being a deep-seated Red Light Radio regular and gracing the city’s club vanguard with exhilarant vinyl sets, it comes as no surprise he’s now found refuge in Dekmantel’s inner echelons.

Cinema Royale’s musical journey begins collecting movie soundtracks, hence the name. It’s where he learned to cherish the weird and unexpected, to take rare finds completely out of context and mold them into transcending coherence. Although broadening his repertoire far beyond the scope of the screen, his aim is still solely to indulge. To invoke dialogue between crowd and booth, to build up or break down a room if needed to propel a night into unity.

With Cinema Royale it’s not about status. It’s not about likes, shares, and hashtags. It’s not about the size of a crowd or room. It’s not about himself or any other individual. It’s about playing a passionate part in a shared experience. It’s about giving it your all to touch on a sense of freedom. Above all, it’s about having a damn good time while doing so.

Yes, the future looks bright but that’s not what’s important. Here and now is what counts and Cinema Royale is right there to deliver its radiant score 💜
