Could you guys do a section on good and bad trailers?  I know some of you avoid them now, I usually do too.  But I've just watched the New Spider-Man trailer and I think it's one of the best for a long time.  It actually managed to get me more exited for the movie.

On Arrival, I really disagree with your interpretation.  I don't think the question is whether having her child will somehow mess up the circular timeline, that she is trading her daughter dying of cancer vs saving the planet.  I think it is simply the question of whether her daughter's brief life and the experience of love is worth her daughter's pain and death and the loss that will bring.   It's a question we all face.  I know that my kids will face pain and will someday die.  I hope and pray that will be many decades in the future with as little pain as possible, but it will happen nonetheless.  All of us will get sick.  All of us will die.  All of us will mourn the loss of loved ones.  It may be next week or it may be in ninety years.  The only difference here was that Amy Adams' character knew exactly when and how her daughter would die, but she chose the option of hope and love anyway.

I literally paused the podcast, opened HBO Max and rewatched the Birds of Prey funhouse scene. And it is pretty fun, and likely has less cuts than most MCU stuff, however, it still has a LOT of cuts

Do you guys ever find yourself torn as to which side to take in a movie?  I recently rewatched Law Abiding Citizen and, while I don't condone the killing carried out by Gerard Butler's character, I feel that it's everyone's fantasy to get revenge on those who have wronged them, and if you had the knowledge and ability you would do something like this (again maybe with a bit less killing).  So I'm kind of disappointed that in the end Jamie Foxx is able to outsmart him.

I'm also gonna mention Ben Stiller in claiming that Permanent Midnight delivers the same message much more effectively than Requiem For A Dream.

just rewatched The Matrix last night. It's both very progressive and extremely influential. It and the sequels really paved the way for the comic book movies. Everyone was chasing the matrix

The second unit director responsible for that scene was Chad Stelheski - director of the John Wick movies. Which is why it cuts infrequently, becuase he knows how to shoot for action
